oh god.... after seeing the second one on tape, you couldn't pay me enough to go see the third. unfortunately having an evo meet at the FF3 showing is only going to further the stereotype of the car being a fast and the furious icon. save us all and ride with monkey in his mazda to the movie....
The second one was pretty bad, I sure hope the third is at least the level of the first one. While I understand Kevin's point, I would not worry too much about stereotypes....we do drive cars with four doors
...and being married, I don't care that much what people (ok high school girls) think.
My buddies and l went in our Corvettes to see the first one. Besides, we have a relative lack of car / racing related movies. So let's take advantage...

ok ok. so i care what high school girls think about my car! is there something wrong with that?
anyway, i would highly suggest checking out "worlds fastest indian" for a moving, emotional, true racing story. it is quite honestly my favorite movie i have seen in years. i do beleive you will be able to rent it shortly. you will walk away from worlds fastest indian inspired, educated and fulfilled by the storyline. unlike FF3 where i promise you will walk away from feeling more stupid. we should really not support the get rich quick film makers who come up with a horrible movie, that will only draw a crowd because of the flashy cars. send a message to them saying that we want a GOOD racing movie, not a remake for the second time.... of a bad movie to begin with.

Here, here. I see we're taking the purist line there Kevin
For those who are not familiar with the afore mentioned movie, go here:
http://imdb.com/title/tt0412080
I guess the definition of a horrible movie is up for opinion. I thought the first one was not a stellar movie, but was not near as bad as I expected before I saw it. I thought it was better than "Gone In 60 Seconds" (not saying much)
Oh well...if some of you want to go I'll go with, but I'll have to remain more neutral to appease the Kevin

I must confess to owning both DVDs (FF & 2F2F). They are both off the scales on lameness, but are great fun to watch when drunk off your @ss.
I also own all of the Initial-D series (most of it in Japanese w/ subtitles) and Drift Bible.
If FF3 shows at Movie Studio Grill I'll be up for a screening. Otherwise I'll wait on the DVD to add it to my collection.

hrm....thinking of 2 places....the most resonable would be the AMC Grand (I35 and NWHY, right behind the chilis meet)....i dont know of any other nice theators in the area except for Cinemark in Plano....
The Grand is ok if you don't mind ducking the gunfire
But there really are no other decent choices unless you all want to drive over to my part of town. We have two nice places, North Park and Valley View...but I doubt anyone other than Brett feels like driving over...
