Hit and Run

Thought I would go ahead and cross post this here. I was rearended on Tuesday night about 6:30 PM and the ******* decided to run. We've got a description of the vehicle and the plate number thanks to a couple of people who stopped to help me out. If anyone should happen to see this truck please give the police a call and report it.

**Cross Post Text**

Well, my beautiful daily driver is not so beautiful anymore On my way home from work, headed out to play pool, I was driving across 121 and coming up to the light at Preston I got rearended. And the ******* fled!!! Thank god, 2 people who saw it pulled over and both had the same description and same license plate for this guy. So if anyone sees the following vehicle driving around with some severe front end damage, please let me know or call the police and report the car. My cell number is 214-597-3852.

Similar to this body style white Ford Ranger

License Plate Number - 9WW G15 (possibly 9WW 615 - sorry can't read this guys handwriting)

Now...for pics of my poor sad car

Did you file a Police report so they can investigate? I can tell you who the vehicle is registered to and the home address, but of course so can the Police.

unfortunately, i think we all know the case thats gonna happen.

mr juan doesn't have car insurance i'm willing to bet. thus the reason he fled. so its gonna be up to your insurance to cover your damages.

the good news is you have his name and address. give it to the cops. his car gets impounded, and he gets a huge ticket/possibly jail for fleeing the scene, no insurance, and unsafe following distance.

sorry to here this though amber

This has been happening alot lately, we've had a few in the past couple of months here in SD. Two of them resulting in deaths (pedestrians) but luckily the drivers were caught.
BTW dridge11, what's up with that avatar? What is that?

I was in too much shock after he hit me, and I didn't realize he was running until it was too late. It was heavy traffic and I was unsure of the extent of the damage to my car.

I did file a police report and they are investigating it. I actually already have the name and address of the guy plus a bunch more information, I have some pretty good connections I'm willing to bet the guy like you guys said didn't have insurance or possibly had warrants out. It will be easy to place the vehicle at the accident, but the biggest problem is that me nor either of my witnesses got a good look at the driver, so who knows who was driving the car.

I just had a thought though...if the truck was a 99 Ford Ranger as it came up, he should have had air bags which *should* have deployed. Whoever was driving should have some sort of air bag burns on him....hmmmm I just hope the police catch the ******* :-/

yep, prolly no insurance so it defaults to an uninsured motorist claim which still means you might have to pay half your deductable. happened to me, i was hit in a parking lot and they ran off. came outside saw the damage and was mildly upset (happened in MD).

hope everything works out for ya.

cheers,

Again, we sure hate that this happened to you Amber. We can only hope there is some insurance on his side, tho as Kevin points out the chances are small. I'm glad at least they should be able to catch him...and perhaps a judge could order some from of restitution down the road.

Let us know if there is anything we can do to help!

I think at this point, just the best help I could get would be if anyone happens to spot the truck to notify the police. I haven't heard back from the investigator yet, but I will call tomorrow and see if they've got any information for me.

Thanks everyone
