when does gas go bad?

i've had 5 gallons sitting in my garage for about 6 months now is there anyway i can tell if it goes bad, and or does it even go bad since its leaded??

to answer the question you can take a sampling with a clear tube straight to the bottom to see if there is any color differences from top to bottom. If its the same it is OK. If not, use it in the lawn mower Six months is nothing, what kind of fuel and how was it stored?

if its sealed i think it will be fine. if u want to be safe u can add 1/2 gallon of 100 octane and u'll be even more golden (incase any moisture reduced octane?)

sory didnt realize ur referring to leaded race gas. yeah 6 month isnt bad at all if its sealed. when you open it and you hear that hiss i think the gas had very little opportunity to absorb moisture.

the gas is that lovely blue stuff we like to call c16 its been sealed and used twice since its been in storage other than it hasn't been opened
