We tried a weekend meet ...
It was every first Saturday of the month. Initially a lot of people who posted that they could not make the Tuesday meets due to work constraints showed a lot of interest in it, but when the actual meet rolled around it was more or less only the people who normally make the Tuesday meet that showed up. After a couple months it kind of just phased out and it's back to only a Tuesday meet and random get togethers.
If there are enough people that want to do Saturdays I'm sure we could find a spot and make it happen.

We could also make 2 meets/month - one for the weekday and the other for the weekend.
Kelly and I have been talking about this, and here's my thoughts on the meets:
1) I think that one club meet per month is too few. I can understand some considerations that might have gone into the reasoning for it - namely if you have only one event, you have a good chance at getting exceptional mass at that event. Always nice to have GTG with a lot of people.
2) Location. Location. Location. Having the meet at the same place month after month gets old to a lot of people. On the other hand, it's easy for us old timer's to remember where it is.
3) Location redux... Wow Irving is a long way away for some of us. Generally speaking, I don't think I'd show up to many of the Irving events at all if it weren't for the fact that I work in Las Colinas.
I have a plan. It addresses all of the items above, and your concern both specifically and generally. I'm going to run it by the group on Tuesday, and will post back after I receive some feedback.
And I'm planning on hosting an NTEC cookout at my house here in the near future- look for it!
