Can anyone in the plano area do this to my car :0
Damn, I do some detailing on the side and I think I've done a pretty damn good job on the few cars I've done....but wow, that Benz is amazing.
If anyone here is interested in a detail job, I am cheap (mainly cause I just enjoy it!) and I'm in the Plano area. Here's a link to a few of the cars I did last fall:

But anyway, that job done on the E55 AMG is amazing!

Incorrect sir, It's very difficult to cause any burns in the paint and I certainly haven't heard of anyone actually tearing or ripping the paint with a PC. It's very easy to use and learn the basics of paint correction. It does however, takes a lot of practice and skill to master removing heavy swirls and other paint defects. A rotary buffer on the other hand can easily do the aforementioned damage. I would recommend going to a junk yard and buying a decent hood to practice on before ever putting a rotary on your own car lol. Believe me, I learned from experience!

Currently I just use off the shelf products, mainly Meguiars products. Thats part of the reason I am cheap, because I'm not currently using products like Zaino and such. Also, I don't feel that I have the reputation or experience to charge people a lot of money for a detail, so thats another reason
As for what I do, it really kind of depends on what the person wants done. My typical job would be the following:
* Claybar
* Paint Cleaner (as needed)
* Polish (2 layers if requested)
* Wax (2 layers if requested)
I do all of this by hand as I don't trust myself with a buffer. If done by hand, I run no risk of burning paint or anything. I am also stupid picky/**** when I'm detailing a car and an exterior job alone can take me 6-8 hours. I could probably keep going, but I usually have to tell myself to stop being so damn picky
If you have any other questions, just let me know. I know I still have a lot to learn about detailing and such, but I just enjoy doing it
I guess it is a form of therapy for me
I would love to hook up with a big name detailer type of place and get some tips/lessons and such, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

The guy who had my Porsche before me had a similar job done and it ran him $860.86 (I pulled the invoice
). Exterior took 7.5 hours and interior 2 hours.
With all due respect: we can tell you don't use a DA by looking at the blue Vette. Your hands simply can't remove the swirls that a DA can. You could leave the DA sitting on the paint and, due to the way it moves, it will not burn through (well, I guess it will if you walked away and left it then your mileage would vary!).
Here's what 5 hours with a Porter Cable and polish/sealer/wax can do for you:

Damn. I miss that car
. Oh, and I'm not fishing for business: I refuse to touch other people's cars.
