Some of the shots I got from around town. Not too bad, some places got it a lot worse.

I'm staying at a friends place just northwest of downtown. We've got power and water amazingly. My place is still out though. Visited some friends in the woodlands and trees were down everywhere. Saw an F250 with the cab totally caved in from a falling tree. The chase building downtown has just about every window knocked out on the south side. Pretty amazing sight. I did find a couple places open in the heights today and I managed to get a hot burger and a few cold beers. Best burger I've ever had.

I found out UH wasn't closed, although not officially open to the public, so stayed there to combat ennui and take advantage of the electricity. Luckily, the vending machines were operational so I bought a Barg's roote beer and it tasted like pure heaven. I've been drinking nothing but water and eating whatever is in the fridge to prevent any wastefulness. I've been using hot coals to boil/cook all the left over stuff.

Power came back on in my neighborhood a couple hours ago but still about half of the area is without it. I lost most of my fence around the backyard and lifted a couple shingles but that was pretty much it. I am very happy because it could have been much worse.
