goodbye clutch

i was dicking around with some friends of mine tonight, and a turbo teg wanted to see what i could do from a launch.. well i went.. and it seemed superr slow. so i was like wtf? at the next light it smelt like i took a propane torch to a clutch..

after that my clutch is super soft, i cant even tell where it releases.. seems like i barley touch it..
and in 4th gear it randomly revs up a little higher and drops back down again. and 5th gear grinds BAD everytime.. im super afraid im gonna strip all my gears!!! AHH!

I would spend the extra cash for an extreme pressure plate and get the 6 puck sprung disc. I bought just the Heavy Duty plate w/ street disc, and am only replacing the disc because of running out of budget, and wish i had the extreme plate now that im going for 600+ whp

the extreme is way overboard for his setup. and pucked clutches are very difficult to drive in comparison to a standard clutch plate.

the ACT heavy duty clutch has worked fine for me. 50k miles and going strong. i have the streetlite flywheel too.

agreed. extreme is overboard. if you have a better clutch disc, you dont need the more clamp load. that is why i went with the standard pressure plate(hd) and the 6 puck sprung disc. AND didnt want to deal with any lock out issues. havent read of any lock out issues on a 6 puck at all. people even stated that it isnt that hard to drive in this application. it has worked well for most versus the HD kit. needed just a little more for future upgrades...
