I have seen alot of stock evo's having a hard time breaking 12's. They were low to mid 13's. But yes some evos can run 12's being next to stock. I ran the 12.24 on stock turbo as well. I will break the 11 second barrier next month though. Just need to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

 

i dont think its that easy to run 12's stock, my car is just outside of stock and i struggled to run a 12.9, i was there when petty ran the 12.2 and i think he could have gotten better.. his car is pretty fast....but thats just my .02 which isnt worth anything lol

Well with the wrong driver in the car it doesn't matter how much you spend on your car. If you cant drive than it means nothing to say you have a fast car. The weather in Chicago has nothing to do with it, it's cool here now. I'm not saying I'm the best driver, but I do know if my car isnt doing good, it's me. After all the car isn't going anywhere if I don't turn it on and mash on the gas, I tell it what to do.

 

i know in my case it was deff. me i did not drive the car to its potential, i was the major reason for my "slower" times but i still had fun!!

 

Well a tbe is a big gain pm our cars but most run lower 13's stock. I think ur tune may be real conservative

 

I agree. But I know I am a pretty good driver. Reaction times were good, 60ft was decent, shifting was on point, so im not sure what I could change about my driving. I know I spun first gear pretty hard, so I tried different launching techniques to mitigate that. Also dealt with wheel hop, so I would end up having to ease off the throttle so I didnt break anything. I will be installing my blox front motor mount this week, so that should help out alot as far as how I am able to launch the car. Well see though.

 

Lawsuit is in the works now for malpractice. They gave me a ball park amount of money that I will get back. Hello 9 second Evo, and a paid for Evo X.

Yup this is totally true, something Monkey picks on me all the damn time!!! But after some coaching (monkey telling me i'm not doing it right) and a few runs I managed to jump out of the 12s and into the 11s. Once this weather cools down enough and I make maybe a few adjustments I want to try for an 11.5. And yes Pat, the car is tuned on the safe side. Once I get the motor built we can totally change that though.
