FEELER: 2006 EVO IX MR-28k miles
Don't get me wrong, I LOOVE my car! But...some of the things we're considering is that I'm older, and work in a more professional environment, and don't have the time to hand care for the car as much. While I want the HP, I also need something more conservative to take to business trips, meetings, etc. This car screams boy-racer, while the IS-F is a little more classy. But that's also why I decided to get rid of the wing...to make the car a little less "out-there".

Have you *driven* the IS-F yet?
I don't like the way it drives. Sure it's fast in a boring type way.
And it looks like a crappy boy-racer car honestly ("quad" tips and body cladding).
You'd be better off buying a used M3 from a professional perspective.

True, but the Lexus would hold its value better, last longer, be cheaper on maintenance, and I would be getting a bad-*** discount off the 62k asking price because of a family member working at the Toyota plant.
Even selling the EVO at blue book of $26k it's a huge loss financially and sentimentally...so we'll see.
I'd think a fair price is something that is blue book plus a nominal amount for the mods...

I won't threadcrap (too much, and I'm WAY OT here), but if you think that the Lexus will hold its value better and be cheaper to maintain than the Evo you're in for a huge surprise (having just taken a $28k hit on a Lexus that we sold this year, I'm well versed in how well they hold their value
). That said, Lexus dealers simply have the best service of almost any dealership we've been to. One of the Infiniti dealers here is awfully close though (Sewell).
Oh... the IS has a poor frontal crash rating because of the A-pillar intruding on the driver's skull. Not that the IX is better, but safety is important to me.

ppl always get a false sense of what their car is worth due to the *******s at KBB who help out the insurance companies.
use NADA or actual auction pricing to get what a car is really worth.
Beautiful car by the way.

Thanks for the advice and the compliment.
Remember -- that this car is not only in great condition, it's also got 18k in accessories to include two sets of available high-end wheels/tires.
I don't feel that what I'm asking for is too much by any means.

Thanks for the bumps guys. The car is worth 25k just in stock condition. It's natural for people to try and get the lowest deal just like its natural for the seller to try and get the most profit. Typically, this ends in a fair price to everyone when its all said and done.
That said...my asking price is pretty firm minus a few hundred dollars...though I am still open to OBO's
