Just make sure you don't change anything until you are ready to change everything at once. I changed my license right away and still drove around with California plates when I first moved here. The excuse "I am just visiting" went out the window because of my nice Texas drivers license. keep everything Michigan and you can pull the I am just visting card.

i thought of that also, and i think i will do that, but only for a few months.. i mean my birthday is in 2 weeks so my tabs and plates are up in MI and i have to be here until April, so im not going to go spend the money right away in TX for new tabs and plates if i dont have to right away.

Ya check the cost to transfer title here so you can plan ahead. I remember when we registered the wife's "foreign" [from oklahoma] vehicle here after college is was a stupid amount of money. Oh and you have to get it inspected and insured in order to get tagged. On your insurance, you might think about carrying more than the Texas minimums because in Plano you can be surrounded by a couple $200k cars just driving on the street. Also get un/underinsured motorist coverage. Lots of people running around without it these days.

(and wtf is a "tab", it's tags here -- and it's funny the registration is actually a sticker on your windshield because people kept stealing the stickers off the tags).

Licenses plates in the front is more a suggestion really...... hahaha

Usually, the old lines
" where on the front of my car would you like me to put a plate there aren't any holes" or
"the car was bought with out one, I didnt know I needed one"
" I got backed into, and appreantly the body shop didnt put it back on, thanks for letting me know, Ill check back with the shop about my bracket"
or my favorite "What do you mean I dont have a front plate?!?!?! it must have fallen off, CRAP! it was there when I left"

work pretty good!! Even if they dont, just put the plate on and the ticket is dismissed..

As said before.... no snow, nice weather, if its not nice wait a few mins and it will change, and noted by our typical forecast for winter " Monday high 32, Tuesday High 75, Weds 54, Thurs 98" HAHAHA
