just wanted to praise Don Herring
My girlfriend and I, currently live in Bossier City , Louisiana but, traveled to the Dallas area to compete in a SCCA event on March 15. During the driving school that was held the day before the racing event, a potential problem with the Evo was brought to our attention. We were told that Don Herring Mitsubishi was the best place in Dallas to have our car serviced and without hesitation; one of the members of the North Texas Evo Club escorted us to thier service department. We were amazed at how courteous and friendly the staff was. They greeted us with open arms even though we arrived at 4:30 and the service department closes at 5:00. Particularly Samuel L. was incredibly efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable. Seriously, whatever they are paying him over there.. its not enough. Imagine how surprised we were when Samuel informed us that there would be no charge for the services provided!!! Not only are we planning on competing in the Texas Region SCCA events this year, we are also now convinced that Don Herring Mitsubishi is the end all, be all place to have your vehicle serviced. In fact, we are planning on making the drive from Shreveport/Bossier, Louisiana to Dallas to have our Evo serviced by that dealership. We simply feel that there is no other place that can compare for Evolution service and maintenance. Saying Thank-you is not thanks enough - they have a new spokes people to rally in their excellence.
so, if you are anywhere close to the area, and you haven't already, you should definetly check these guys out.
cheers fellas

Don has been an incredible supporter of the whole Evo Scene-
- SCCA incentive program-$50 for winning class $500 for winning season in your class
- sponsoring Mark Berry's awesome F-prepared Evo
- longtime sponsor of NTEC ( show'n shines, tech day, MSR Days, attends monthly meets regularly,,)
- discounts at both DonHerring locations: 10%labor-15%parts
- can't remember him ever saying, 'we can't do that' for every event we've planned

Thank you so much for the feedback. We certainly try our best. I wish I could have made it out this weekend to the Autocross, unfortunately I had to go out of town. My door is always open and I certainly appreciate good feed back, but also remember if we ever fall short or miss the mark to let me know, because that's how we improve.
Thanks again,
Don

yeah.. they checked it out.. said that it looked and sounded fine.. just a little low on the fluid.. so they put some in for us.. it was still doing the same thing the next day.. not as bad but you still tell. i think kelly said it best though "i dont think there is a set behavior when a wheel is up in the air under diress"
so when i get back in from working i'm just going to drain everything.. look for metal.. hopefully find none, and through some redline in there.. should be fine..
but you know chris.. i could have told you all this if you would have showed up sunday

Yeah, I agree. Don Herring is the be all and end all of all Mitsubishi dealerships. I've personally sat down and chatted with Don Jr. Upstanding guy. He'll definately take care of Evo guys.

From Beaumont is a little far. Still, driving 200 miles for a service is plenty far, Justin. How is the drive anyways? I assume that it's got to be better than the I-35 drive--I hate driving up to the DFW area for that reason. Unlike you guys, I decided to drive back the night after the race. I was so tired...
^ its not that bad.. just a straight shot all the way to dallas.. but thats also the worst thing about it...BOOOOOOOORRING!! but hey, its worth every mile.. and your right.. 200 miles isnt that far to get a good service.. Chalain is going back that way next weekend to get the 90,000 mile service.. just because of how well, they treated us.. i'm trying to talk her into going to an event that weekend.. said she doesnt wanna go without me.. i'll bet she changes her mind though
