I really hope this is true because I dont drive with mine on! They look terrible on evos.

The current Texas code 502.404 states:

(a) A person commits an offense if the person operates on a public highway during a registration period a passenger car or commercial motor vehicle that does not display two license plates, at the front and rear of the vehicle, that have been:
(1) assigned by the department for the period; or
(2) validated by a registration insignia issued by the department that establishes that the vehicle is registered for the period.
That previous proposed change was years ago and did not pass legislation.

I've been stopped three times and ticketed once. Two of the three times I was stopped it was in my front windshield. He said that was also illegal. I finally put it on.

Law passed or not, I've just decided to keep a certain amount of money available to pay the tickets as there is no way I'm putting holes in my bumber. It just looks crazy on an EVO.
