Taos, NM

I'm taking a summer class that SMU offers in Taos, NM. I was wondering if there is a place around here that sells 93 oct. Also, what do people do around the area for fun? I've been on several hiking trips during my first weeks. We were looking for some natural hot springs. Any recommendations?

Oh man. SMU Taos is the coolest thing I ever did in college. There are some sweet mountain roads out there but I didn't take the Evo. I have no idea about the 93 octane, though. Good luck.

I see that you are already down there. All we ever did was go to the Guadalupe River during the day and drink. Then we had bonfires everynight across the highway and drank. I'll search around google/maps and try to find the access to the river.

Oh man. Already found it. If you guys don't go here, you haven't been to Taos. (This is assuming you are a drinker like me)

You can either park on the bridge and walk down there or turn left at the 'B' location and brave the road to the water. Warning: the Evo will not even make it this far. Once you turn off 522, forget about it. Hop in somebody's truck and trick them into driving down there.
If you cross the bridge and head down the road, there is a trail that leads to 1 or 2 hot spring pools. Expect some bumps and scratches because the trail is pretty nasty. Well worth it, though.

He's right though! It's sad to say, the prices in NM are way too high and we have crappy gas!
