Can anyone confirm this? My buddy told me it's in effect, not sure where to look to find out. Quick google search came up with nothing.

Yes it's true I called and they said it's 7 for regular plates but personalized is still six characters, don't know why though

When did you get? I heard from a friend also that the reason they're doing that right now is they're waiting for the novelty plates that were already made to get sold before the personalized ones can be seven

If you don't like it, you can always get a custom plate...well worth the money if you're not one of the 400k people that voted for the monstrosity.

Yea those are ugly as hell. Guess I'll have to stick with the 6 letters. I liked my old plate, hopefully someone didnt get it yet.

 

There is no set date for when they will be 7 letters, I asked this week casue I just picked up my personalized plates. They said they will change to 7 and a new design but no date on when yet.

 

Are you talking about personalized or regular? Because i've already seen the new ones on the street but not personalized

 

The new ones are already out. The first one I saw was on some PT Cruiser and threw up a little in my mouth. I have also seen a handful on lowriders (Trucks) as well. I bet there are a lot more that will be popping up.

 

I am talking about the new regular plates, they are out already. The new personalized plates will not be out till later, there is no date for release yet. The lady at the window was telling me about it cause I asked her.

 

Got one of the new plates on my Wife's Evo. I have only seem to see them on the used cars so far.

 

They are being given to anyone that buys a car right now. Used or new they are the ones being given when you register you car when you purchase it.

 

Anyone remember the black and white plates with the half star that was only available for a few months? Wish they would bring that one back.

Agreed that the new ones with 7 chars are ugly. Wish I could register the set of NOS 74 plates I have for the Evo.
