Emissions test in Austin

Hey! I moved to Austin a few months ago and I am in need of getting my car inspected. I was wondering how strict they are here about emissions. I have a tb exhaust(no cat). I'm not throwing any codes. Will I be ok?

Uh...it depends on where you go. The places I've taken my car have always looked under it for the cat actually. The 10 minute inspection places hook up a sniffer and now some do variable speed testing. Austin does in fact have emissions regulations, so does Dallas, Houston, etc. Only way to know is to try but I always put my cat on for emissions and I always pass. It only takes 10 minutes.

ehh.. little towns are no emissions, but there are certain counties that require emissions testing (OBDII scanner for newer cars, sniffer for older cars)

Yepper and they check under the car-- a physical look. As stated it depends on the station and location.. I have had it happen. Do the rt thing and no probs.

I went for my inspection today, and passed with no issues. And I'm running cat-less. But like everyone says just depends where you go.
