I was in the war.... back in nam... ha. Houston! From moving back here from Cali this is still a relatively rare breed of cars. SoCal the scene is huge. Tons of places to MOD and track. TX is a little more limited on motorsports.

im movin out to Lubbock Texas, goin to be attending Texas Tech... jsut kinda wanting to see what im lookin at.. how the cops are, or mainly are they strict like out here in California with the emission laws and what not?

Emission standards vary by county/city. Usually big cities have higher standards, where small towns don't really care. Watch for cops, especially since Texas is so big, they like to ambush people, in the middle of nowhere, on the (usually correct) assumption that you're not going to drive all the way back out there to fight the ticket in court. Usually on the open road you're ok to speed a little but watch your speed more than the road when you come up on a town.
A popular trick is for the clop to shoot you with a radar gun the instant you pass a speed limit sign that lowers the speed limit from 70 to 55 (or in come cases I've heard, before you cross the sign). Almost no one will actually be at 55 when they cross the sign but are slowing down. Especially with out-of-state plates, ESPECIALLY with cali plates, and ESPECIALLY in an evo, watch out for those b**tards. It's not about safety, it's about money. If it was about safety, they'd pull over that grandma going 55 in a 70 and swerving in and out of her lane.
