Help in Temple

I am taking a temp position at Scott and White in Temple and needed to get some general info on the area. Are there areas of the town I should avoid staying in? I will only be there 6 days every 2 weeks, so I will prob just rent a hotel room.
Thanks in advance

I was looking at staying right by the hospital. I will probably drive down my daily just to be safe.

Check out Dynasty Restaurant, Chinese Buffet. My friend Johnny's family owns it, it's great lol. I thinks it's on airport rd.

And from what I've seen, MLK rd isn't the best area(east of hwy-35?).
