Dallas drives
Dallas drives
Let me begin by saying that I am not an EVO owner, FWIW. I have a Boxster Sypder, and have been a fan of the EVO for a very long time. When I lived in Texas years ago, we did Sunday drives with all makes and models of cars. We had Lotus, Ferrari, EVOs, Vette's, etc. and we would inevitably do some spirited driving (nothing illegal) and stop for a lunch somewhere.
When I was in CA we did the same thing, but the car clubs I was involved with there were a little more model specific.
I have looked through the forum and can't seem to find any regular drives near the Dallas area. My question is this: (i) are there any EVO/car clubs that get together regularly for drives, and (ii) if so, would the participants be inclusive in letting a non-EVO owner participate?
Thanks for your help. The way I see it, we are all enthusiasts, and I never saw a point in excluding anyone so long as they were not stupid and crossing yellow lines. I scheduled some track time in September at Motor Sport Ranch in Ft. Worth, but I still have not found any roads that are rewarding to drive in Dallas at this point. I know that they are out there, but evidently I can't seem to find them.
If anyone has any suggestions feel free to PM me or drop a line on this topic.
Thanks in advance.

here's a cruise i organized a few weeks ago after our PTP-TechDay
(a must suspension shop you should check out before your trip to MSR)
We met in Benbrook then took back roads to Lake Weatherford and then to a nearby Mom'n Pop Peach operation-best dang peaches in the South!!!
O'Bannon Peaches and Pecans
846 Moss Ln
Weatherford, Tx
817-594-3358
If you have another hour and a half,
head back south to Muir Rd/Bear Creek Rd to 51 South thru Granbury to Hwy67
Don't forget MSR is (on 377, a few miles outside of Granbury)
on your way back to civilization!
Hell, I like this route so much I'll take you as soon as I finish my e-85 tune

It was good to meet everyone at MSR this weekend. I hope DEVO330 had fun driving my car for a few laps. Next time, I would like to see a few EVOS running so I can see them in action. If only I could learn the track a littler better and try trailbraking... I just need a smidge more front end grip... Funny how the VIPER had about twice the mechanical grip that my car did. I guess 295s will do that for you...
that Was a fun eclectic group, i guess there were two M3, but otherwise, all very different cars, including your new Spider...impressive ride, thanks for the drive!!
that viper IS a Track beast, ain't it?? I don't think I've ever been in anything even close..
