Houston Meets & Driving Locations
Hey all,
I'm a new evo owner in Houston. I was wondering if you all do any regular meets or events in/around the city?
I've also been on the lookout for fun roads to drive on, in the area. I bought the car in LA and was spoiled with the canyon roads of Malibu. Now I moved here to find everything straight/flat
! Any suggestions for good driving locations?

Sorry Bro I've lived in Houston my whole life, and the only thing good bout it is that their is allot of straight road. So going fast is probably your only option. I live in Killeen now theirs allot of good roads out here and the Austin, San Antonio area are actually perfect. Sorry Bro!!!!!
im building my car for the twisties. i thought i was gonna race and drag it but decided the windy roads were for me. i just wish i was there the day that all the stuff happened with monkey. 20 days and Ill be back in killeen

Google Maps
There is also a great track at Texas World Speedway where I'll be almost every month starting October. That's a lot closer to Houston than Austin.

Yeah it was verry fun, except for the part when he went in to the wall I was the third one up and I luckily wasnt hauling *** cause of my wack *** tires.
I bet it was scary as all hell man when it went down. But i do want to go on limecreek rd and atleast said i did it. now im just saving up for good tires and suspension set up.

Yeah Cause driving my Wrx is so much more responsive since the wider tires wheels and suspension. But its alright Ill hook up the Evo soon and once you get back we can all roll out there again. The turn our friend took is probably one of the most demanding towards driving experience and car setup you really just gotta take it a bit slower than he did. Im not gonna say how fast he was going but he was going pretty fast!!!
Came back from Cali too. These houston streets dont come close to the landscape. your best bet is to do a cruise with the austin guys. Austin/ fredricksburg is TX hil country. I'll admit you beat me to the punch on th thread. Coming from SoCal; the mentality is the cruise so I feel that TX lacks. We can do it though. We just need to organize

NTEC had a day at MSR last May and quite a few Evos attended from out of town. At $85 and 5 runs for the day....well what can I say, we have the best sponsor in the US!!!!https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/no...mod-video.html
Some groups' idea of a cruise is a morning 25 mile cruise to eat and then the day is over....
NTEC would come down for a full day of twisties west of Bandera thru Leakey and the Twisted Sisters-RR335, RR336
If someone from each city would step up, we can put this together for this Fall.
Oh, you asked about Houston..
not sure what part of Houston you're in, or how far you're willing to travel to get-to-the-good stuff
but, TRAFFIC being the biggest obstacle to any good road, the good stuff usually ends up outside of town.
checkout the motorcycle publications-they like the same stuff
good maps-several are required because 'the good stuff' seems to be left off of almost all of them
I have more details if anyone's interested

Man I would definitely show up, but I don't know any of the Evo owners to put anything together. I just had my 2nd day out at Harris Hill yesterday and I am now a track addict. I'm booking for the Oct 2nd Drivers Edge event @ Texas World Speedway.

there's a houston lancers group, www.houstonlancers.com
we do monthly meets and do bbq's and stuff, all pretty mellow
for some reason evo's don't stick around for long, so its mostly regular lancers and some ralliarts, but you could change all that
you should check it outand as far as non-make specific meets, there's always the access zero meet that happens once a month, i think its the 3rd saturday of each month? has a really big turnout
The three sisters is about an hour and a half west of San Anotnio and is by far the best pieces of road that Texas has to offer. Plan on at least an overnight trip to go out there from Houston though. Also plan on spending a couple hundred dollars in fuel, most people don't take that into consideration...
