I wanted to write a quick plug for a local Austin shop. It's called SoulSpeed. http://www.soulspeed.com
They work primary on suspension and tires but Bill, the owner, does brakes and other work as well. I got my Evo aligned as well as some otherwork done and Bill really did a great job. He puts a lot of care into working on your car. For example, unlike most tire shops that just pry the tire off the wheel with a crowbar, his tire mounting machine is able to mount/unmount your tires w/o any metal ever touching the wheel(this is key if you don't want your wheels scratched) Anyway, if anyone in the Austin area is looking for tire/suspension work on their cars, I highly recommend SoulSpeed.

I have nothing but good things to say about Bill Kim and SoulSpeed. I have told everyone that is willing to listen that he is THE guy to go to for your suspension set-up.

 

Same here, Bill is a great guy that takes great care of your car. Bill knows his stuff(he's an instructor at Texas World), top of the line work. I have an appointment with him on Monday for Hotchkis spring install, Stainless brake line install with flush and new Super blue fluid, new Ferrodo pads front/rear and of course a 4-wheel alignment. Highly recommended!!!

 

+1 on SoulSpeed! Got some new rotors/pads put on there, and Bill is a really cool guy.

 

Did you have that done before going to MSR? Did you have him do an alignment as well?

I just wanted to bump this thread up to add another voice of recommendation for the fine people at Soulspeed.

Due to the indifferent (and ignorance) I received at Gillman, I sought a reliable source for scheduled maintenance for my Evo.

I received top notch service from Collin at Soulspeed, and would recommend them to anyone seeking honest and knowledgeable service for their Evo.

 

Bill's always been helpful with rally car brake pads. +1 for Soulspeed.

 

Bill doesn't even own the place any more and Collin has, well let's say interesting theories on how to corner balance

 

Weird, I haven't been there in a while.

 

Is there any qualified places in SA? I just put coilovers on the car and need a good place to go for an alignment.
