Both JMS and Cobb are great shops for evo tuning. Have seen quite a few VERY fast cars come out of JMS and people drive from all over to let jorge do thier evo up for them.

I was going to make a post here but it seems as if this thread is going down the drain. If this is a matter of wanting/needing a road tune and saving gas, you can contact Tom (TSCOMP).

i dont think its the matter of saving gas its the fact he bought this car with a blown motor and rebuilt it and would hate to trailer it some where just to find out the tranny/transfer case/rearend is no good or it has a major oil/fuel leak or something of that nature

OK. So it appears that there is more preventive maintenance that needs to be verified before he is ready for a tune. There is nothing wrong with getting a "once over" since so much work has been done to get the car where it is. But on the issue of discovering issues with the car is why I mentioned an e-tune to eliminate the trailer aspect of the equation.

So let me get this straight...

Your friend contacts a reputable shop asking for a baseline tune to get a car up and running. This shop specializes in road/dyno tunes, not email tunes. Then, when that shop sends him the first ROM, you're going to get on the forums and blast that tuner because the car didn't start the first time? You're pretty freaking ignorant.

Have you ever tuned a car? Do you have any idea was goes into tuning a vehicle, especially when you don't have access to that vehicle? Even the guys that specialize in nothing but remote tunes have to send at least 2 or 3 tunes to get the car to start, much less idle smoothly.

I actually already has a rom from a member on here (evilvampire) and it started up and ran fine first try, but I didn't feel safe driving 3 hours on a tune from someone I didn't know anything about, so my goal was to get a rom from Kevin since he would be tuning it if everything worked out right, so I switched over to Kevin's and the car sputtered and died, immobilizer was disabled on both roms...i emailed Kevin and didn't get anything back, I'm not sour about it, I'll just run around on evilvampires until I get tuned wherever it may be....

If Evolution Dynamics is closer to you head over to them, with all reputable shops they're going to be busy so it's not like they don't have time or won't answer the phone. But when you make contact with them make an appt. I had great customer service when I went to them and have nothing but good things to say about them.
