Smile T-SPORT's Rev - Lite Install

Tech question:

First couple of mods to my new Evo will be a K&N drop-in air filter, which I reckon should be good enough for now while I figure out what exhaust/intake combo I want down the road. Also, I'd rather see the car pull air from outside than from under the hood where it's hotter than hell. Thoughts?

Anyway, the real question I have is: has anyone installed T-sports's sequential shift light? (called the rev-lite)? I have one on its way to me, couldn't resist it. I hate having to watch the tach for upshifts when I'm running hard.

Can it be connected to the coil and then fed through the firewall, or do I have to tap into a wire to the ECU? If so, which one, and can anyone point me to an ECU wiring diagram? Where's the easiest/neatest place to pick up a live wire and ground? I want to mount the rev-lite on top of the dash if possible.

Thanks in advance. I know these are probably basic questions, but I've only had the Evo 2 weeks and still finding my way around.

pin 58, then?....

Thanks . So, pin 58, right?, and 12V/earth from any suitable switched component.

I know the ECU is behind the glovebox, so that should be straightforward enough. Anyone who has fitted one with advice on locating it on top of the dash. I'd like to drill a small hole and drop the wires down behind the dash for a neat install, but don't know how much of the dash I'd have to dismantle to get in there?....

Did you already buy the K&N filter? If not, I've got one to sell at a very reasonable price. The filter has about 3500 miles/4 months on it. Let me know.

Finally got around to installing it last night. Totally awesome and well worth the money. I mounted it on top of the steering column cowl where it's in my field of vision but not intrusive. At last.... freed from having to constantly switch from watching the road to watching the tach

On a different topic, I've seen that some of you out there have had your ECUs dynoflashed. Which version did you go for? (I'm assuming the all out $199 version). How long does it take them to turn the ECU around and back to you? Experiences with performance gains on a (so far) stock engine? Does it need to be reprogrammed when I swap out the cat back and dp?

Questions, questions..... I really need to get down to the bank to chat with you guys in EvoSpeed. I'd be there tonight, but my better half is working so I have my 3 year old daughter to watch.

Later.
