Mods and meets
ok.... so I've got my new evo run in, made sure everything's working as it should, smoked a few 'challengers', got my first ticket
, and I'm ready to start some extensive mods. Starting out with a not too exciting K&N filter... pretty adventurous, huh?
.... oh yeah, and I've already modified the car by ripping off the damn front plate holder the dealer thoughtfully bolted on there... so that counts as lightening the car, right?
. It left a big ugly hole in the front air dam, but then that can count as increased airflow to the intercooler. Rev-lite should arrive today too.
Interestingly, I spoke with the service dept at the dealership yesterday, and they cautioned me against modifying anything as it may void the warranty.... hmmmm.... apparently even splicing into the rpm feed to the ECU for the rev-lite can void the warranty???? Anyone out there been denied a warranty claim because of mods? I have a long list I want to get to as time and money permits.
Saw some really nice 'Evolution VIII' badges for the trunk on eBay for $78, from the UK. I would consider it so long as taking off the existing badges doesn't leave an ugly mess. Maybe goof-off would take care of it?
I'd like to come along to one of the meets down on Westheimer. Only reasons I haven't so far are... a) it's quite a drive from where I live out NW of town, and b) I'll feel really, really old because I'm sure you all are WAY younger than me. Oh well, back to work.

From what i have seen with some of the warranties on this car they do not hold up very well. JUst about anything will void it, so i would say dont even think anything about the warranty because it sucks....
