I am trying to start organizing the Alpine trip for September. Due to popular demand it wil most likely (read: definately) be a two day ordeal (Sat-Sun). I'm thinking of the 11-12 of September but it will be based around others' schedules. The plan is to leave Tucson ~11:00am and head up to Safford (route not decided yet but I-10 is an option). From there we will take 191 to Alpine and stay there over night. I believe there is a motel/hotel nearby but I heard others talking about just camping out. In the morning we will head back to Safford via HW 180 and 78, then back to Tucson. I highly recommend you bring along a freind to share the driving chores as it is a long trip. Please feel free to post your ideas/criticism because this trip is a ways away and I want everyone to enjoy it. More to come...
