I’m betting we’ve all heard horror stories of some driver(s) showboating or driving beyond their ability up in the mountains and paying for it with a ticket or a ride home on a flatbed or worse. Let’s not do that. We’ve come together to appreciate some fine scenery, to drive some winding roads and to talk shop with other enthusiasts. So let’s keep it safe, folks.

 

So how many people are gonna show up? Last month everyone was supposed to be up there and I was the only evo I saw the whole time. If imma waste 30 minute trip some yall better be there.

 

There will be a good number of people.

We're planning on rallying at the Robbinsville NC Microtel at 0915 and then departing at 1000. Will that give you enough time to get into town from where you are or did you want to meet elsewhere?

 

I might come up there to meet everyone. Should be fun.

I was there Saturday. Didn't see any other Evos. Traffic was light and weather was good.

 

Nice catch with the Lotus twins there in your pic. I am really looking forward to going down there. My trip is planned for early May. Hope to see more pics from you guys that went and maybe some feedback on some other good roads out that way.

man, i had every intent of going, but friday night, i found out i had a major boost leak right after breaking my ACT in. So i was fighting with that all weekend, and still am. WIsh i coulda went since im soo close to there.

 

We made it back safely. Definitely a very memorable weekend.

It was good to see all the folks who made it out and unfortunate that we weren't able to meet up with Slowride and the Elise folks when we were supposed to. Next time.....

Oh and Slowride, we saw you but I guess you were too busy driving to see us going the opposite way!

While the cars were great - it really is the camaraderie, the meeting of new people and learning of new customs - the shared group experience that separates the good car meets from the great car meets.
