Talladega is much to far ofr a track day over a weekend. If Roebling doesn't work then I would more the likely make a trip to VIR.

You can always do a Seat-Time event at Roebling. I do one there every month. It is run by a guy with a lot of time in an Evo. He is the man, he has made me a lot faster. Check out Seat-Time.com for more information.

I believ thet Little Taledaega is about $1000 to rent the track for a day (depending on who you talk to. It is definatley negotiable). As a matter of fact, one of my customers wives just rented it for a day for his birthday at that price.

I thought it said that it was TOO MUCH. It really said that it was TOO FAR. My bad.

I have been there and I can tell you guys that if this is the first time on the track you should not run clockwise, it will be too fast for somebody without experience.
My suggestion is that we can star counterclockwise and maybe in the afternoon go clockwise.
Also I will suggest a session on the skidpad for everybody, you can really learn a lot about your car behaviour, remember we are going to the racetrack so we can learn about the limits of our car, you will be surprise how fast can be the Evo!!!
My last suggestion, change your brake fluid with something that is more suited for track use , bleed your brakes and you will enjoy racing the whole day without going agricultural (no brake fading).

So what day do you guys want to do it? I have rented the track there more than once, and I know the owner, ok?

When is the date going to be? Is it going to be on the weekend or weekday? I have a few others, if you need some more folks, who may be interested.

As for a time, it really depends on the mods you have. I think anything 1:13/14 is respectable for someone with 260-290whp on street tires. In my Evo, CW, I turned 1:13's pretty consistently, but the tires were weak, and the car was on stock suspension. For comparison, my buds 96Cobra, stock engine, but Maximum motorsport suspension can do low 1:14's, consistently. I have seen one Evo run a 1:09 from a standing start down there, and get way down below that at speed. The fastest I have been is around 1:08s in a friends Evo, which was @385-400whp range, on coil-overs. You may recognize his car, it has been in a few mags.......note links below.

I want to do this as well. I also know some DSMers that would want to also. It all depends on the dates though.
