my wife & i are moving to Miami soon. is there a way for me to register my cars early w/out driving them there or do they have to be inspected & everything?

There is no inspection in the state of Florida, let alone Miami. The website posted above should give you all the info you need on registering your cars and getting the licenses changed. Also please note, as soon as you make it to Miami, get your Driver's licenses changed to Florida Licenses, There is a 30 day grace period but that goes real fast. I moved from one house to another and I got pulled over and the cop almost had a fit when I told him I had moved two months before. Did you get your Visas? Because Miami is like a whole different country...
