Awesome...

While the Dr. was laying it down in E.T. Bracket racing, I took home 2nd place in the sport RWD class against a twin turbo + NO2 automatic Supra. I missed a shift to 5th gear damnit...
Hey dsm95hybrid, Nice meeting you yesterday. Our cars are like neck to neck!
My 12.1 yesterday was my fastest time ever, and in that heat!
I hated that shift from 4th to 5th right near the finish line. But now with my
Vijay-tuned AEM-ems, I can just hold 4th right thru the line!

When the weather cools down we'll both be in the 11's!!

best solution.... Stop racing in straight lines, and go to a track with some freaking turns!

Its pathetic that to have one of the best inital platforms for auto x, and road racing, yet everyone still insists on drag racing.

Holy snap!

I still don't know why they don't call it a turbine housing. Where did that ever come from anyway? A vendor's marketing campaign?

Don't get your panties in a wad. I do far more autocrossing than drag racing, but it's still a good idea to go out and see QUANTIFIABLE proof of improvement after adding mods, and I don't mean through the use of a dyno, although that is a useful tool as well. I go each time I add a mod (or two) to see how much faster I get, then I go whoop it up at the auto-x. I'll be doing my first road racing event next month, too, so I believe in using the Evo for its intended purpose, too. That doesn't mean drag racing can't be useful, too...

That is of course if you can afford to burn up the OEM spec tires. I am not excited about buying new tires. I have lost 2 oem tires so far prior to their expected life. 7000mi and 9300mi.

There are plenty of evo owners that can barely afford gas, let alone maintenance and tires which I believe is wny many choose drag instead.

Oh, actually, I preserve my stock tires by running on a set of R-comps for auto-x events. I have to have a second set of rims for winter driving anyway, so I just put on some fairly cheap R-comps ($144/pc) to race with and save my tires.

Yes, not everyone can do this obviously due to the cost, so drag racing is a cheaper way to have fun...at least until/if you have to replace the clutch.

Dude, just because we drag-race doesn't mean we don't autocross!
We just finished an exciting wknd of draggin at the NHRA event at Moroso.
I autocross monthly and usually place 2nd or 3rd in the highly competitive
"street-mod" class that has about 25-30 entries!

Since you do both autocrossing and drag race. What is your alignmnet setup as on your car? Do your tires wear well?

Thanks,
Tony
