advice on advans in North Florida winters
I know that these tires tend to grip terribly in the cold weather and while we don't get snow here except for every 20 years or so I was wondering if anyone in north florida or south georgia fears driving it for those 2 months when the temps can dip below the freezing point.
I do have a sebring convertible I use as a daily driver so it wouldn't be a big deal to park the evo on cold days but just wondered out of curiousity.

When the temps are below 35* , you will have trouble with turns b/c the tires haven't heated up yet . Expect to drift unexpectedly . Also , if you "jump" out in traffic while turning your evo will likely do a 360*( if the tires are cold) . I did this in front of a cop wednesday . He was impressed but said if I show off again , TICKETTIME .
Basically what I'm saying is that the advans take about 30 min of constant rolling to properly heat up . If you THINK that there MAY be ice on the overpasses , use another car/tires . There is not much more scarier than suddenly drifting with 10 other cars around you !
Maybe I'm the last person to find out , but I've been rotating my advans like regular tires . Yes you have to take them off the wheel , but I've gotten 25K on my Advans so far ! And I still got massive tread !
