any homestead, fl racing vids....?

i'm entering for the road race in the next couple days so i wanna study the track a little and get an idea of speeds and what not for the track...so like a very fast track from the map...lots of straight aways....im kinda worried about over heating my brakes....i have hawk hps...but im not as confident with them as my stockers...seems like they get super loud kinda quick and i dont know if its my imagination or if the performance goes down.... i havent over heated them yet... so i cant make an actual complaint....

point is any vids would be awesome.... warmpepsi, im sure you have 50 or 60 lol
urs are awesome!

cheers!

This should get you started with videos:

As for your brakes, Hawk HPS is a STREET pad, not meant for the heat that you'll generate from repeated heavy braking at a race track. I would recommend going up to Hawk blue or HT-10. Check out www.raceshopper.com they have several brands of pads listed with their characteristics, and their pricing is competitive. I've bought my last three sets of race pads from them.

Squealing isn't necessarily bad, but hitting the brakes and having the car keep going is. Running stock pads on a race track, you will notice after a lap or two that it takes longer to stop with the same pedal pressure. Pretty soon, if you are still driving hard, no matter how much you mash the brake pedal the car just won't stop like it should because the stock pads are now too hot to work properly. That's when you need race-only brake pads. They can take the heat and keep on stopping, lap after lap. Yes, they are more expensive and yes, they will wear out faster and chew the rotors more, but hey, racing is about spending money, right?

what event are you hitting?

I'd recommend better pads, and a flush of the fluid.

I've never had a heat problem at homestead, but there were two other evos down the last time i was out, and the one guy straight boiled the fluid and killed the front pads, and the other was soft enough, but you can't get any timing and flow going when you only have 2-3 laps worth of brakes. I'd seriously consider buying a set of track pads.

I'll see what i can do on the video, i know i've got my older vid, of 2 laps, but i ran quicker than that last time out, but never made a video i don't think.

edit: homestead is quick, but not really completely out fast.

116 thru turn 1.

107 down the straight between 4 and 6.

114 down the straight between 7 and 8.

111 on the back straight.

Again, i only run about 17-18 psi on track.

Any questions man, just shoot me a pm or an im.
