With the Evo, you need to find a place that is "gated" or has a parking garage. Unless you are buying a home with garade... I live Uptown for that very reason. Otherwise, say goodbye to your car...

I've had my Evo for four years with no problems.

Where you should look to live depends on why you are moving here. Work, school, etc.. There are a lot of nice areas kind of spread out in all directions from downtown. I personally wouldn't live in "uptown" unless I worked down there.

I would suggest getting a short lease on an apartment near the university area with a garage until you find an area you like.

Birkdale Village is pretty nice. It's a little pricey for what it is though.
