Mercedes is releasing a German Evo, lol, check out the specs on the new 2014 CLA 45 AMG:
-> 2.0 liter turbo engine 355hp/332tq
-> 4MATIC all‑wheel drive
-> DCT (dual clutch) 7-speed transmission
-> Price: $47,450

I completely realize that Audi has been producing turbo AWD sedans for years, but this new Benz is interesting because they are claiming that their new AMG built 2.0 liter turbo is the world's most powerful 4 cylinder production engine. That's 178 horses per liter on pump gas from the factory, which to Evo owners isn't all that impressive considering what a properly tuned 4G63 can put out. That is until tuners start working on this new AMG engine.

Still don't think I could get rid of my EVO for it though. Maybe one day....

I will never get rid of my Evo...after I'm done using it as a daily I will start tuning and racing it aggressively...at that point this CLA AMG would be a nice addition.

That being said, it's an old design that has two main drawbacks: (1) efficiency (2) emissions. By today's standards, the 4G63 cannot compete with modern f/i engines that use direct fuel injection and other technologies that result in better gas mileage and cleaner emissions. As it stands right now, my barely tuned Evo gets only 18mpg in the city. Having 33mpg like this new Benz would be very nice, I'm tired of paying $4 per gallon for premium and fill up every 5-6 days.
I think we can agree that the 4G63 will go down as one of the best 4 cylinder engines of all time.

Seriously though, I feel your pain. Until I got another car to DD I was hating the evo. It makes me appreciate it so much more only driving it on the weekends and special times instead of having to rely on it daily.
I'm in for the Cars and Coffee on the 6th as long as the weather stays nice.

Sounds like you need to buy a beater for 2K and use the EVO as a weekend car.
