Any dealer love in the SouthEast?
I personally like to buy local and build a relationship with the dealer at which I bought the car. I like to think that in the long run by doing this that if I have problem they will work more with me to resolve it. So in my opinion saving $1000 to $1500 on car would not be worth buying it out of state or not at my local dealer. The saving would have to be more like $2000-$4000.
I've bought 5 new cars in the last 4 years. I've never found relationship building to be much of a help. I think it all comes down to the quality of the service department.
A quality service department is a very strong incentive to continue a relationship with a dealer, not the other way around. We didn't buy another Saab...not because the car was bad (it was great) but because the service department was bad. At the same time we bought a Honda minivan over a Toyota mainly because I liked the service department from previous experience.
The local selection is also a big problem. I can get the options but not the color or I can get the color but not the options.

I bought mine from Don Jackson mitsu (just south of atlanta in union city). After hours of haggling and staying til after 9pm, they sold it to me for 34500 out the door. that's a GSR with the SSS package. Good luck trying to get them to replicate that though
I know it maybe a hike but it is a lot closer than SCM, try Daytona Mitsubishi in Fla, I bought my 1st IX there and got a great deal, I cant remember my salespersons name, but IM me if interested and i can find it. They were matching prices in Cali at the time. Might be a good idea to give them a try. Might just be worth it. Their goal from what i was told was to be the SCM of the east coast. good luck dude.
