Raleigh/Durham/Triangle Area Meet
Thanks for the votes on the 335i. It's definitely something to consider. Although, I've driven that car several times and the suspension is soft, the steering is a little numb and overall it doesn't handle like I want it to. The M3 has a tighter suspension, better steering feedback and overall better driving dynamics.
I can't make up my damn mind. I want so many things and want them all in one car. Here's the list:
1) Luxury features and interior. I had a fully-loaded 2006 A4 with all the goodies before I bought my Evo IX. It had everything and the interior was amazing. But, it wasn't fast enough and didn't handle very well.
2) I had an RSX Type-S back in the day. I loved how the car was light and tossable and the free-revving engine was great. I love an engine you can wring out the revs to over 8,000.
3) I loved my Evo because the handling and steering feedback was out of this world. Plus, in stock form they're pretty fast. But, it didn't have the right kind of interior details and features I wanted and it was a little on the loud side for me. Plus there is basically no utility in an Evo since you can't fold the seats down.
4) My R32 has an amazing exhaust note. The interior is nice. The utility is great. Handling is so-so. It is NOT fast by any means. And, the damn DSG is killing me. I need a manual.
So, I need a car that can bring all those things together. High-quality interior with all the goodies and relatively quiet an decent utility (at least be able to fold the seats down). Beautiful exterior. A free-revving engine that is also powerful and will make the car scoot (12's stock would be perfect). Manual transmission. Superb handling and feedback.
Can anyone think of a car that can deliver all or most of this? Or am I searching for something that doesn't exist?
Looks like I'll be out test driving every damn thing possible over the next few months to see if there is anything that will give me what I want. Ugh.

Pontiac G8 GXP out soon
415hp/415tq LS3 small block (takes nicely to mods)
Six speed manual
"13,0@108mph stock"
Close to 50/50 weight
Good look interior
Lots-o-room
Spose to be under $40k
not sure about the fold down rear seat
If I had the $$$$......
I've thought about this car as well. I'd have to work really hard to get over the fact that it is a Pontiac (even though technically it's a Holden). It will definitely be on my "have to test-drive" list when they finally start hitting dealers.
new s4=sex
DONT BUY A PONTIAC....althought the g8 is bad *** looking. Pontiacs are like nice chasis/ strong powertrain and drivetrain, with a bunch of plastic and rubber attached

I was just doing a bunch of research trying to find cars that would give me what I want and it's hard to find anything
The new 2008/2009 M3 is probably the closest thing. I'll keep looking.More suggestions are welcome...even cars that aren't out yet are in consideration
wait and see what happens with that new NSX suppose to come out..
I really favor japaneese cars tho. I mean German cars are very very nicely built and drive but have the dumbest problems, most ecspensive for parts and the hardest to work on.
i would drive M3, s4, rs4, 335, MAYBE an a4, or a c63 amg
but i would pay somebody to work on them haha... they really are stupid... kinda like while your taking it apart you are thinking "What in the hell were they thinking?"
volvo s60r are pretty bad azz as well... o shut up and just get another evo

I am on lock now at least for a while- got a ticket in Martin County on the way to the outer banks and I have to resolve that before the wife will allow me to have any fun. I do want to make it to one of these soon though.
