He can accommodate that as well, bushings are one of the bigger things he gets asked to do because it takes some practice to get them right (very labor intensive) So list what you want, when and where you want it, and we'll get ya'll custom quotes. Usually, if he knows how many and you prepay, he can or already has some arms done at his shop in Cali then just swaps them out.

I want the KW Variant 3's. What all do I get for the $2100 package? It sounds a little confusing up there where you mention, "cornerweighting "is not charged" with a suspension purchase". Does that mean if I buy the KW Variant 3's, I get free cornerweighting when he comes to town? I just need some clarification before I make this jump.

Ah so you want his "streets" coilovers, good choice. This will depend on what other services you'll be wanting and what you do with the car. The 2100 is the price for JUST the coilovers - meaning your getting his custom KW coils installed and your car cornerweighted for free because cornerweighting is not part of either the advanced (if your buying coils) or basic (if your using shock/springs) so he's hooking you up.

However i would HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest you jump on the advanced package as well to help the car rotate and kill that understeer that so many stock evo's or ones with less then 700hp observe. Also do the bump steer if you want to go even further with better steering responsiveness if you like the twisties, this way you'll have a "system" that will complement you and your right foot each time you get in the car

So to break it down:

KW Street coilovers - 2100
Advanced package (sways/bushings) - 800 (1200 normally without the coil purchase, aka called the Basic)
Front bump steer - 395

Total - 3295

Outmaneuvering and going faster in the corners then your neighborhood $100k Porsche, Ferrari, or BMW - Priceless. You will say

I'm definitely about to pull the trigger on the KW Variant 3's. The advanced package says it includes (rear swaybar, rear bump steer correction kit, and rear trailing arm bushing kit). How come front sway bars aren't suggested?

Also, I'm not to familiar with what the rear bump steer correction kit and the rear trailing arm bushing kit does, can you explain to me a little bit more of what it's supposed to improve, sorry for my noobiness...I've got 4.5yrs of autocross under my belt, but I'm really not sure yet if I'm advanced enough to realize what these extras would gain me. I'm basically looking for an ideal setup for monthly autocrossing and two lower-speed road courses per year. One more...with this schedule, how often do I need to have the coilovers rebuilt?

It's cool man, dats what i'm here for The rear kits replace the factory rubber bushings in both rear control arms on each side with polyurethane/hard rubber ones like the ones whiteline has. These add responsiveness, thus when the chassis starts to turn, the rear comes around to line up where your tires (hands) are pointed rather then go straight when you get on the throttle (understeer) or come completely around (oversteer). A MUST in autocross because you don't have the momentum usually and we don't have RWD to make up for it. It also makes tuning your rear sway stiffness a lot easier because you'll be able to feel it a lot better.

The front sway isn't normally suggest for our cars, as you can read about in the tons of discussions that have taken place here. In most cases where the driver has street tires or dotR's, the front sway diameter is adequate enough and if you increase it, it can take you back into understeer. It's only been suggested when you go full slick, and have the insane g-forces to deal with (aka grip), should you need more up front. From a engineering point of view, the front roll center correction kit corrects 90% of the issues you would need to address up front.

But not that you mention your tracking the car, i might even suggest going to the Clubsports (comp2's on his webpage) coils as they have larger valve and piston designs with a higher temp oil that can respond better to demanding track conditions. This is especially more important for autoxers because they need the low speed, TIGHT corner grip in every instance. However, they do provide a slightly harsher ride - so it's up to you in the end. I think the documented difference between the two is 2 seconds a lap. I had the clubsports when i first got my car and drove it daily for 2 years, but that's just me (i have the Race ones now) Search for posts by me in the evo suspension thread, i have a full detail review in there somewhere. On top of all this, Robi will setup your alignment to exactly where it needs to be based on your tire type and size.

In terms of "harsher ride," how much harsher is the Competition 2 over the street KW's, both at low and high speeds? I have a friend with the street KW's on his Evo as a reference point and his are definitely streetable at all speeds...just has to slow down more over bumps.

Can you list, in order of best performance improving mod (rear swaybar, rear bump steer correction kit, rear trailing arm bushing kit, front roll center correction kit)? This is going to be on stock wheels, street tires, but in a year, I'll be getting larger wheels just for track use.

My budget is about 3k and I'd like to have a rear sway bar to complement this setup. Either I go street KW's and get some of the extras or I get the Competition 2 and just the rear swaybar. Thanks for all your help so far...I'm trying to narrow this down.

I'd go for the street with the whole system then, because you can always upgrade to the clubsports later on now that you'll have the rest of the system. One bit isn't necessarily greater then the next, they all benefit from each other. It's like buying just pistons when you really need rods and everything else to truly make the engine stronger, same story here. Now i just need a good date/time/location from ya

Not super harsh, you gotta realize it's designed to be stiffer and so forth so big bumps or speed bumps you'll have to slow down more for.

I'm going to get something, just have not made up my mind yet, but mark me down. I'd like to get this done before the next autocross event.

name: Hien (Thoe99)
time: Dec. 6 or earlier
location: anywhere in Orlando (Maitland would be icing on the cake)
