The Evo is comming back from the mufler shop on Monday, since they did have to install the 5 inch exhaust and 4 inch downpipe . Keep you updated, otherwise the turbo is in, everything looks fine, next week we will be able to hook up the AEM standalone, injectors etc... and go.....

so are you going to balanced or not Ryan. You have me switched to go there and now I have an appt for next weekend.haha. I have one with dan at batlground also on the same day, but he will never return my phone call and wants me to drop off my car for 2 days for a 5 hr job. so Ryno, how much does batlground charge per hour and if Dan would keep in touch a little better I might consider still going there since it was my first choice . But, Dan seems real cool and seems to know his ****.

 

Yep seems super cool to me as well, But like I said when we first started talking, they don't get 2 days to install cams, and if you have problems you can not get in touch with the. At least balanced has some full time techs and someone always gets the phone. My install will be done on Monday or Tuesday of this week. I have the exhaust send 2nd day from Cali and I have the cams, and cam gears right here.

 

Cool, you should have balance do you motor work. Or do you not need motor work for 1000 hp?

The exhaust on your car looks crazy. I was there with the Silver Evo, man it looks like a school bus muffler, it huge. Anyway good luck with your car. Grand Muffler is a good shop.

What kind of problem do you have so you assume it is a weird boost leak? Just trying to help You see, it was not just a matter of slapping the parts on our car

Well the problem I have is boost leaks over 6000 rpm's but it was fine before I changed to the turbo back and used to hold 20 psi to redline. Now I hear a squeal noise and I lose about 5-8 PSI of boost. I am getting a test BOV to see if that is what it is. If not I am going to need someone to pressurize the system to see where the leak is. Or run it on a dyno or something.

 

What exhaust did you go with? I just had a glance today, never looked at it closely? If you did the turbo back exhaust and Xede at the same time, your BOv might go bad.

Stock recirc valves are weird, on every car. Some hold 18, some hold 22. You never know. We have experience that on all cars. On one of my prevoius Zs, teh stock recirculation valves would leak around 16psi, but then one day it started leaking teh boost at like 2-3 psi of pressure It was time for some BOVs.

Loosing 5-8psi is kinda high. How does the car feel? Loosing power big time?

I am going to try a different valve this weekend and see if it holds. Ya the power loss is HUGE got the cams done today and I can spin all 4 going straight in 1st. It's as fast as I need to go. If the stock one does not work would you guys want to take a look and see if you can find the boost leak?

Call me on teh weekend,a nd let me know how it goes. RacerRSX had a spare Forge BOV, you can call him and ask him to borrow it. If that does not help, I will be glad to have a look at it.

This is Ryan again, I am going to Knowledge to watch a evo get tuned on Saturday @12:00 and he said I could try his stock blow off valve and see if it helps, if that does not work I will let you know. I tell you what these cams make a HUGE difference and it seems like each mod made about 30-40whp, Computer, Turbo back, cams, all felt like the same power was added. It is as fast as I wan't to go. What number is best to reach you at?
