NASA FL @ PBIR December 4th-5th, 2010

The next event on the NASA calendar is the first weekend of December at PBIR. For those not familiar with NASA, they put on a great event with everything from HPDE to Time Trials to W2W Racing.

The HPDE program is for everyone, with levels 1-4 depending on your skill level and experience. From there, you can begin Time Trials, racing against the clock in a class of similarly competitive car. Finally, there is W2W racing, which has classes for any car! A NASA competition license is required, though other licenses are accepted such as SCCA, after your credentials are reviewed.

If you have never run your car on the track, or have never run with NASA, it is worth trying it. It is a safe and competitive bunch of drivers who all share the same goal of bringing their car home in the same condition it arrived at the track in.

For the December event, the fees are as follows:

HPDE 1 (w/ Instructor) - 2 Days - $489
HPDE 2-4 - 2 Days - $409
Time Trials - $409
W2W Racing - $299

You can register at: https://www.nasaproracing.com/event/1131

Dont hesitate to ask any questions and check out the region website, www.drivenasafl.com

Thanks,
Joseph

You making this event Matt?

I am gonna cut it close...I got hit in turn 8 at HMS by an idiot in a 2005 Civic in the sprint race. I made the pass on the outside into the braking zone, he locked them up, and went right into my left quarter panel since I had already started my turn in. Best part was that I was lapping him after only 15 minutes!!! He was about 10 seconds a lap slower. Fortuantely, wasnt bad since it was a 2300lb car hitting a 3100lb Z so he got the most of it. I guess I am veteran racer now! =)

Hoping to, as always. Sick of overheating and a few other issues that are finally getting looked at. Ya i'd say you are now lol. $10 car vs $20 car, $10 is always going to be more aggressive, so assume the worst intentions

Who you using for a local race car body shop?

More like $5 car vs a $35k car

I am using a friend of my dads, Andrews Collision here in Fort Lauderdale.

I have factory Brembos, SS lines, Motul fluid, with stoptech 2 piece rotors, and a Hawk DTC race pad.

For beginners, a good set of track pads like HP+ or Carbotech XP10s, SS lines, and a good fluid will be plenty.

Register soon, prices go up as late fees kick in Tuesday I think. Just show up and have fun. You will get an instructor that will teach you all you need to know. There are a few on hand that have Evos themselves so they can show you the proper line. Nothing worse than having a Porsche driver as an instructor showing you that line!

Don't use the HP+'s on the Evo (or any car really) as they'll squeal and you will glaze em even with street tires.
