first i would like to start off by saying just how much better evom is than any other forum their is. this site has some of the best members, who dedicate some of their time to HELPING others with problems. even the administrators get their hands dirty in in-depth discussions, and know their crap. This is an international forum so im going to compare apples to oranges here, but you would think the opposite would be true.

one would think that local forums would be of alot more help sometimes. people could actually offer help in person since they live locally. one would think their would be less drama, trolling, flaming, hating, derogatory comments, respect, etc etc. however this is totally untrue of tennspeed.net.

beware TN residents of tennspeed.net. if you are a member, you might know what im fixing to talk about. if your not i would not suggest tennspeed as a good place to obtain any useful info from, since thats what a forum is for. you couldnt pay me in a million years to ever post on that website again. let me explain in detail how horrific this local forum is.

i joined yesterday, in regards to a couple of threads here i have made. i have been looking for a shop with a great reputation to do work to my evo, but mainly right now im wrapping up a honda build and am in need of a good shop. i dont mind having to send my engine somewhere but i thought i would start locally and work my way out.

the thread i posted in tennspeed.net was called "shops in TN". i asked basically what i described above, if their was any shops in TN that mainly focused on hondas and that i had a serious build with alot of money invested.
immediately they got off topic and a member stated that it must have been a typo for someone to invest 30k into a honda. after that came a response that said i should try lake modding motorsports with a picture of old hickory lake and areas drawn to the middle and stated shop location here. people continue to post opinions on the car itself, how supposedly retarded i am for building a honda, how the mod list was full of junk parts even though everything is name brand and i have never shopped on ebay, how they could have done it better, with less money, so on and so on.

at first i try to ignore the problem, and actually get maybe three actual responses worth anything, and three actual shops that i have never heard of locally that do great work, one of which is trackone motorsports. The owner himself contacts me from trackone, appologizes for how bad tennspeed is even though he could never control that kind of thing unless he bacame a moderator, and continued on to assist me with finding someone to build my motor even if he was not up to my par.

the flaming went on inside the thread, with the typical "you mad" and posting pictures of nonsense to get a rise out of me. i contacted the site administrator after i finally got tired of arguing with these "children" and never got a response. the hating and thinking "oh my car is better" went on and on, and i posted plenty of times you need to learn to respect someone elses car, their post, and stop posting useless information in other peoples threads. i then noticed something very odd.

somehow my avatar was changed from a picture of my evolution 8 to a pice of paper that said "LIAR" as if i just posted it to make people think i owned an evolution. i thought ok my password was pretty easy to figure out and if someone tried they could have easily hacked it and changed it. i laughed about it and posted whoever changed the pic is acting like a child. i replaced their picture with a picture of both my honda and evo in the same picture to prove to them im no liar. i didnt have to and dont know why i did, but what the hell if they dont believe me then whatever i can prove it.

again the flaming continues for 10 to 15 minutes with them saying just stop we won we won as if that makes them feel better about themselves. now keep in mind some of these people had over 7k post count. to me post count does not mean anything. it does not mean you are god when it comes to cars. it only means you have replied many times and after judging this site they probably obtained these high post counts posting things like they did to me.

the argument continues still i hear nothing from the administrators or moderators (if they have any) and its becoming very irritating i cant get an honest response in regards to the original post. i then notice my profile picture has changed again. this time to lol richard simmons, yes the lets burn that fat ladies richard simmons. at this point tennspeed.net has become hilarious to me as i know knowone would know my password since i made it something no one not even i could remember. i had to write it down. what does this mean? obviously the site administrators were some of the guys throwing these comments posting stupid pictures, and changing my avatar. how childish does it get? who in their right mind lets people like these become moderators and admins and allows them to do these things?

the last post someone said just stop arguing your not gonna win we already have i replied i know ive lost, i never was trying to win only look for information which i never got. its ok though this is my last post and i will let every forum i subscribe to know how ridiculous tennspeed.net is and how the moderators and admins are all jokes. just remember fighting over the internet is like the special olympics even though you guys won the argument, your still retarded. 2 minutes later i was banned confirming the fact the site is poorly ran, the people posting the things at least one was a moderator of some sort, and that tennspeed is just full of nonsense.

i decided then to do some digging. immediately after being banned i created a new profile logged back on from another email, found an administrator, clicked statistics, threads posted, and what do u think i find? a thread asking what can be changed about tennspeed to make it better. on top of this everyone who was talking trash had posted what they thought could make the site better and the administrator was agreeing with them and went on to say for some reason here recently we cant keep new members. they dont stay too long and the members list has been dwindling.

i decided to post another short sweet response:
i wonder y? maybe because you ban the wrong people and do nothing to those who start the problem. for example you ban awdordie but do nothing to those who instigated the problem. probably because those that instigated the problem are your close buddies who are the moderators. if you want to get members and keep that from happening you should be stricter on those who go off topic and flame and throw opinions. i will however tell you this after my one day experience with tennspeed i will be posting negative feedback on every forum im a member of in the regional section so it hits close to home and can only hope and pray that one day this forum is shut down. maybe then someone who knows how to run one will step up to the plate. go ahead and ban this account as well as it will do you know good. have a nice day.

after posting that and going back to search for the thread i had started what do ya know they had already deleted it. probably because i made the statement which said " go ahead tennessee show everyone how you really are. you only respect what you have and dont care about anything else. dont worry though this will be seen."

i am so glad that evom is not like that. i applaud each and every one of the moderators for doing their job and keeping this community alive and well, and in order. i could only wish that every forum was the same, but one would think in an international forum there would be a better chance of flaming since it can be easy to sit halfway around the world and talk crap behind a computer but the opposite is true. we all know alot of us evo owners are hated by others because they think that we think we are better because of what we drive. the total opposite can very well be just as true. i hope this thread spares someone the time and grief from posting in tennspeed.net again thank you to all the evom moderators admins and members.

Glad you could go on to show the world how right you are. Too bad the thread was deleted or you would have been made a even bigger fool. Evom is not the place for your shenanigans. 2 threads on the same subject and one has already been locked. In before the 2nd one is shut down.

First off, you really shouldn't run to other forums to complain, yes EvoM is a great forum and has led me to many solutions to issues I've had (skimming, never joined til now).

Second off, I believe you are acting as a giant child for being banned, Tennspeed will pull jokes at you, but if you can't handle them well then you probably don't need to post comebacks. Just to state, if you didn't care, didn't feel, and didn't find it necessary to prove the ownership of the Evo, why take a photo?

Third, please do not slander the forum, period, ever. We aren't 3, so please, act like a grown man.

A reported post to this caught my eye, so I thought I'd chime in. I've been a multiple Evo owner and am a longtime middle Tennessee resident.

Awdordie, my advice to you is that if you don't like their forum, don't use it. I have never had any experience with Tennspeed, as I always used Tennesspeed (now Octane Forums). At any rate, local communities sometimes have hazing of newbs. But I think most of it is done tongue in cheek. From my vantage point of your first post, they were probably feeding off your reactions. You just have to let that stuff roll off your back, man, it's certainly not worth getting upset about. In my opinion, posting it on Evom will drag a war onto these forums, which I don't want to see happen, as we'll just have to remove it.

On the topic of your original question, there are several great vendors on Evom who could handle your needs, but none of them are local to us. If you have to stay local, I am willing to report my experience with a shop in middle Tennessee, though. There is a shop in Spring Hill who works with AMS (who is an Evom vendor). I have used them with very good results and can vouch for their integrity as well as workmanship. Plus, they have 4G63 experience. It is DBR High Performance. You can find them online or just give them a ring.

I am willing to let this thread stay open if we can change the topic and edit the posts to help with your Evo build, but if it is to be a Tennspeed bash fest, it needs to be put closed. I hope you can understand my side, as we strive to keep the technical and regional sections free of drama.

I have been trying to find the Tennesspeed forums for a while as I was a long time member. Thanks for clearing up the name change. They were a good bunch of guys.

 

i never posted on tennspeed looking for a shop to perform an engine build for my evo. i posted to find a shop specializing in hondas since i own both an evo and a honda. thats the reason i didnt post here. i posted here looking for a shop to do minor work to my evo and there to find a shop to do a full build on a honda.

for those saying i should let it roll off my back i have. im not mad or pissed in any way however forums are forums for a reason people search for information they may not have or know. when joining a community online i have no idea why having thousands of post counts means you know everything. it doesnt. that is like saying oh, i have a higher post count than david buschur, mellon racing, ams, etc etc that i know more than them when they are very respectable people and shops and own some of the baddest evos in existence.

if everyone in evom thinks what im doing is wrong then im sorry. new members in forums do not mean they are new to modifying cars, loving the sport, working on cars, etc etc. so how is it right for someone to get bashed when they are only seeking information they cannot find or do not pertain based soley on the look of their car.

i do not build my car for you to like it, for him to like it, for her to like it, for them to like it, or this group, or this group of people. i build my car how "I" see fit. I build it the way "I" want it. after all it is my car. and i would hope you build yours the same way. i would not cast judgement on your car based on its looks, how you did this, or that because i have respect for all enthusiast. after all we all share the love for the sport so whats with the hating?

and for aministrators to just go in change their profile how they see fit and this and that is ridiculous. if you feel im wrong, then i feel sorry for you. like i said tho, after reading the administrators own words asking what can we do to change this around, i see the demise of forums like that. after all whats one to think who might have the same question, clicked on my thread, seen everyone hating and not providing info whats that gonna do. if i seen it i would steer clear.

main reason i posted this thread in the first place was to THANK evom for being a better forum and share my experience, along with the other places i shared my experience with tennspeed. the industry is better off without that kind of attitude. lets say for example you took your car to a shop, and they said your car looks like crap, started bashing you because you had a problem and didnt have the knowledge to fix it or do it yourself. now stop and think would you want to let them work on your car? would you reccomend them? um...... no of course not. and if you go to the tuning and shop reviews thread in this forum people leave negative comments sometimes about shops. whats the difference with what im doing?

all i was sharing was my experience with tennspeed.net. im not hurt, pissed, or anything of that nature. and like i said you couldnt pay me to get back on that site anyways because it is poorly ran. forums are for information not flaming and judging someone because of how they built their car. im fully aware everyone has and is entitled to their opinion but opinions like that should be just left up to you instead of word vomit coming out of their mouths. i didnt ask everyone hey what do you think of my honda? i asked for local shops. so how is it right for them to flame hate and do nonsense like that and go off topic? its not. and hazing just because your new to a forum sounds just as ridiculous. maybe that is what they were doing, who knows? maybe i did take it the wrong way, but judging from alot of other peoples opinions where i have said something about it feel the same as i do.

and for your post i can understand where your coming from. i do not intend for this to be a tennspeed bash fest. i only intend it to be informative. it was my experience with them. it didnt fit in the tuning review section or anywhere else and since this is the regional i felt it be more appropriate here. i only posted for others to see my experience and to be forewarned before diving in like i did thinking, "hey most these guys are local they will prob have plenty of answers for me on the situation." i was completely caught off gaurd and wrong about local forums.

 

you probably never joined until now because u prob seen the thread i made, and seen that i would share my experience. thank you for subscribing and proving how right i am. second off im not acting as a child because i was banned. answer this, why was i banned in the first place but noone else was? i was the one being flamed and trolled. im thankful im banned and that it said time ban will be lifted:NEVER. i didnt find it necessary to prove anything your right, but its my profile so y couldn i have a picture of my car on their? why did someone keep changing it? and fyi i didnt run outside to take a photo to prove anything i have quite a few saved in my computer which i just changed back from liar, and then when it was changed again i just ignored it.

third this is not slander. this is site feedback, and an opinion, like everyone stated over on that forum. remember, IM ENTITLED TO IT. so now you act grown and know that i can and will voice my opinion and give people feedback and share my experience with any shop, tuner, or forum. thank you.

and this proves my last and final point or how pointless forums like these are. my last post to that admin was deleted by a moderator and apparently i lke _ _ _ _ lol. and i love the post about my ungodly car. thanks again evom for being something other forums could never be.

 

While I understand you dislike their forum, this website isn't the place to air it. I offered to allow you to have a build thread of your own, which is within our rules. I don't imagine many people from Tennspeed will see this as they are a forum catering to a local community, and we are a global forum catering to the community of one car. I am certainly not going to allow this thread to become a gateway for Tennspeed members to register and argue with you.

I feel you have been given ample opportunity to air out on this subject. Please understand your disenchantment with another forum that does not relate to 99% of our member base has no real place on Evom. Feel free to start a thread in this area if you want to talk about your Evo and CRX to SE regional Evom members. There is also an Other Cars section, as there global Honda enthusiasts here who would probably enjoy hearing about your CRX, if you only wish to highlight it.
