Hey bchizzy, just wondering but last night I was driving up from Toronto to Waterloo around 1am. Arrived at Waterloo, was the only car on the road, I drove and stoped at a red light, saw a cop right across from the other side. I proceed to go when the light was green, then made a right turn and proceeded down the street to my girlfriends house.

As soon as I made the left turn I saw him made a U turn and proceeded to follow me that's when I had a feeling he was going to pull me over. And he did, I got my license and regristration ready. He came up asked for it, and said the reason why he pulled me over was because my exhaust was too loud. WTF!!! Mine is no where near being loud, I calmly explained to him I never got pulled over for such non sense and he proceeded to tell me he didnt care. Asked me a bunch of questions if I put it on myself or which shop etc. In the end he basically told me he was going to give me a ticket for having a loud exhaust and should remove it ASAP, and let me go.

So now the question is, I told him my exhaust was in the legal DB limit and he said he didnt care, so If he did give me a ticket I was defintely going to fight it, but why was he being such a dick? Any reason why, he pulled me over? Suspicious drunk driving? Didnt even ask me any of that, etc. He wasted 45 minutes of my time. = /

according to the hta, there is not set legal DB limit.. it is unfortunately up to the offices digression.
cop was a dick because he can be... he pulled you over because you gave him a reason to..
your a young male, driving a modded car with aftermarket exhaust = ticket.

you can take it to court to fight it but i'd forget it and just pay the $120 ticket.

cold of been worse though, he could of ticketed you for tints if you had them, your halo rings in your headlights, if you have a evo side plate mount ect..

another LOO-er.

let me tell u waht i know. the a few reasons:

1) end of the month, u were the only car, looks sporty etc. since he gotta meet his quota, he issued it.

2) it doesnt matter if your exhaust is under db. as long as its aftermarket, hes got the right to issue u a ticket. if you have proof, you can bring ur paper work to court and see if they care. cuz the cops dont. i once got a ticket for my exhaust on my g35. it was stock.... iunno how he said its aftermarket cuz the exhaust has "infiniti" on it. so your best bet is to talk to the judge about the cops stupidity.

3) its waterloo... a small town... they have nothing better to do. i guess you are in the wrong place at the wrong time. im sure if you fight it, they will let you off.

good luck tho!

ps. buy the wintes. w00t w00t

Just fight the ticket man trust me. My old ride had a straigt pipe & cat with just the stock muffler gutted lol. Its the risk you take having an modded car. I got 5 tickets in total in the 3yrs i had the car. 4 of them went to court and the officer didnt show up so it got thrown out, the last one pleaded guilty and only had to pay a reduced fine of $35.

Yeah he probably did think about pulling you over simply because of your exhaust. Sometimes that's all it takes. Like everybody's been saying, there's no db limit for exhaust. It's up to you.. you can take the exhaust off and put the old one back in.. bring proof that you changed it.. and they might let you off when you take it to court.

Or you could pay the ticket and keep the exhaust and hope you don't get pulled over again! No demerit points for a ticket like that.

There is no "end of month quota" for tickets like everybody seems to believe. The cop may have been a dick for many reasons. Just like in any job you guys work at, there's always one, right? Or he might have been annoyed with the way you answered his questions. Like if he sensed some sort of contempt or attitude then that increases your likelihood of getting the ticket.

Well I almost met G's fate today... was drivin to work early this morning and a damn deer ran out in front of me. Luckily I stopped in time... but yeesh... if anyones been to Wonderland and heard the dropzone stop...thats what my brakes sounded like haha it was kinda funny. Can stop pretty quickly, I'm surprised. I was doin' about 65 so it would've sucked if I smoked it haha

Well crap... why do I have this dumb instinct to slam the brakes LOL I should've sped up :P

Nah I probably would've been really upset knowing I killed something. I have to swerve for bunnies and squirrels all the time. Poor little things don't make it half the time (Ive never hit one yet, just always see their lil corpses)
