Need Some Help!!

Okay guys not sure if this has been posted or not but i am looking for some help here.

K here is my scenario. When im driving my car between 1500 to 5000 rpms my car sounds perfectly fine. Once my car is over 5000 rpms i get like a high pitch sordof hard to explain but like a trumpet sound you could say. Also the check engine light is on.

Some people are telling me it could be my muffler some are telling me my catalytic converter could be plugged and others say could be the gasket on my header. Just wondering if you have any ideas or what i could do to pinpoint where its coming from.

All i know is its not until i reach the higher rpms that this happens.

ill try to post a video later incase it will help but any insight for now would be great.

at the next meet, for 10 dollars the club can pull the code for you and get a reading on how your engine is running with the scan tool we have.

I suggest you take it easy, and if you ever see the check engine light flashing, pull over and give the car a rest.

Alternatively, you can ask around... I know Tango had a problem with his first header and RRM replaced it. if you can meet up with him, I think he will be able to tell you straight up, if its the header.

i agree, if the car is not modded, then take it to the dealer, if you suspect its modded and has to do with that part, then have someone else inspect it.

Did you get this sound after installing the CAI? If so it's normal, other than the CEL part. The CAI's make a REALLY loud sound at high rpms!
