Now im also wondering what factory immobilizer module is used for our vehicle? I cant find jack shiet for our car....any help is appreciated.

I have the 5901. Great system! I have had Viper(DEI) alarms for years, and have them on all my cars. Never had one issue with them. It doesn't matter if you get the Clifford or the Viper, they will both work the same on your car. They are the same system. Did you mean 50.7x ?

The alarms above both have a manual mode. So you have to do a sequence of things before you turn off the car to confirm it is not in gear. this way you can remote start it safely.

But in reality, any remote start will work on a manual. You just risk running you car into something if you leave it in gear and try to remote start it.

I have had remote start on all my manual cars. I never leave mine in gear, it is just a habit. There are different things you hook to the shifter, so it will not start when in gear. Or if your car has a SHIFT light from the factory, then you can use the sensor that is already in your transmission, its super easy.

wait... what??? lol i'm confused...

when i turn off my car i don't leave it in gear. i put it in neutral and pull the hand brake and turn off car ... so with that habit in mind can i still get a remote starter for it? or do i have to do something for it?

i have no knowledge in this so bear with me... all i know is i install something and i press a button and it starts my car. but i suspect that because its a manual that needs to step down on the clutch to start the car theres something special you need to do with it.

Its so much more trouble to put an auto starter in a manual car, Most companies don't make a starter compatible for manual, some do, but if you take it to anyshop they will do one of the following

1) say no
2) f-it up
3) tell you no warranty on install and use at ur own risk
4) charge you an arm and a leg, with the addition of four extra fingers and three toes, and maybe if they are really reluctant a Kidney as well
or if your lucky
5) do it for a reasonable cost

I've had a few shops come and say no to me and others want to charge $1500+

With these cars and all of the electronic glory its a gamble id say, but doesn't hurt to ask around

One time My buddy had a remote start n his Suzuki winter beater standard of course, had his car in reverse for some reason (probably kids playing in it), hit the starter one morning and the car backed out of his drive way across the street through the neighbours garage and hit hit his Lexus.

Any way
Most of the remote starts for standard vehicles tap into the gear sensor and check for neutral position before cranking the car. If your car is in gear then it wont start period

Yeah, if you leave it in neutral as a habit, you will be fine. But if someone puts it in gear by mistake, (kids etc) then your car may run into someting.

there is nothing special you have to do to make any remote start work on a manual, except have it bypass the clutch switch when it starts the car. The remote start does not know if it is in a manual or an automatic.

The remote starts that say they will work on manuals, usually have you do a sequence of things before you turn off the car. They hook a switch to the clutch pedal, so the remote start knows when the clutch pedal is released, also it hooks to the e brake switch.

then you have to pull your e brake, then release your clutch pedal all the way before you turn the car off. This way, the remote start knows it is in neutral, because the car was running with the clutch released. Then the next time you try to remote start it, it will start. If you fail to do the sequence before you turn off the key, it will not let you remote start it later. Make sense?

But there is no need for this if you are **** about leaving it in neutral. It is just a fail safe, and it is good to have it hooked up.

Actually, most cars do not have a gear sensor(beside the reverse sensor). If all cars had an actual gear sensor, then there would be no issue or price difference from shops to install them on any car with a manual. Cars that have a (up shift) light, do have a gear sensor, as mentioned above, and they are super safe to install remote starts in them.

Some shops will hook sensors on the shifter, or cables so the car will not remote start in gear, but if they fail, they are liable, so thats why most do not.

I say just find a friend who can do it, and save a ton. Or an installer who will do it when not at work. I do all of my installs, and all of my family and friends. Saves them a lot of money. LOL

I agree most shops will say no, or charge a lot more. That is only because of liability reasons. They don't want to get sued if you run your car into something, or someone when you remote start it. It is not because it is more difficult to install.

1. what brands or products is good for the lancer 2009 GT manual? product names and where to get them?

2. the price range? or prices of the product? i've looked around and some range from like a hundred to two hundred but others go to 500 700 800 because of w/e function they include. so i have no clue if this is even in my budget to do

3. hehe *smily face... smirk actually* hey talon wanna do mine for me??? lol

Here are three 2 way remote start systems. two vipers, and a cheaper brand. All three will do the job and give you 2 way pagers. that is the best to have IMO, because you can confirm that your car actually started.

Here is the Viper 5901. It is there newest and highest model. Up to 1 mile range. It is 220 with 10 shipping, but you would have to see how much for shipping to Canada.

Here is the older model. It has a couple less features, but otherwise it is a great system. It has the one mile range also. You could get this one for at least 50-60 less

Here is a cheaper brand remote start. It is not bad, but the range isn't as good as the vipers, and the quality is not as good IMO.

I would install it for you no problem. If you were not a million miles away LOL

Here is a bypass module, that does not require one of your keys to work.

Here is a bypass module that does require one of your keys to work. It is about half the cost.
