i have 2009 2.0L lancer CVT. i always pump 87 but i tried 91 a couple of times.
you'll spend around $7 more per 50 liters of fill. but whats important is the kms your getting.

on 87 i average 580 kms a tank (i fill at first refuel warning @ 50 liters)
on 91 i pulled 620 kms. so around 40 kms and $7 difference between 87 and 91. (don't bother on 89)

is it worth getting 91 octane? yes your getting more kms for more $$. but i think its very little difference in fuel mileage. one more thing i noticed is that the sound of my Greddy SE has less reverberation and the -vroom- sound is more crisp.

advantages for your engine is debatable. so i guess it's a personal preference to get regular or premium.

Don't be cheap man... give the car the loving it deserves... lol As people said... the car will adjust... but it takes some knocking before the car adjusts.

Do you have Cobb? Maybe you can fill up with 91 and see what happens... and then fill up with 89 and see what the Cobb says is going on with your car.

You're a stock tune and you run 94 usually? Actually I guess technically the manual says the car should have 93 octane right?

For you guys that run 94... do you notice any difference between that and 91? I'm running 91 octane usually.

Oh... and I usually buy gas from Shell and Petro Canada... but are there any "proven" differences between the different gas companies here?

And who provides gas to Costco? I actually worked on some of the stations... but I don't know who their supplier is. I heard Canadian Tire is supplied by Esso.

The newer Ralliarts are running turbos... hence the higher octane fuel requirements.
