Snow mode or no snow mode...

It's snowing season again.... what do you all think about snow mode? I've driven the evo for 2 winters, first winter using snow mode and the second in tarmac through the whole season with winter tires for both (duh). Do you guys think the snow mode is worth it? (engages gears more violently, clutch stinks after a long drive etc for the GSR guys) Someone wanna got input in regards to the different modes?

AWC is only differential adjustment. Snow mode is perfectly fine.

Today I used Gravel mode. I'm only gonna use snow mode if it is really messy outside to the point where you atleast have several centimetres of snow on the ground and you are really worried about the car going sideways.

What exactly are you talking about in regards to gear changes and throttle abruptness? That shouldn't change with the AWC mode.

using snow mode doesn't mean you can drive like that. Tanner Faust got serious driving skills.

that was due to a already dead clutch that I have after some track days and tried dragging on and on for a clutch replacement. Not a good idea I ensure you I have pretty good driving skills. so why don't you sit back and relax in your ecobox, while I got some STI hunting to do?

The throttle abruptness only happens in the GSR where you have a manual clutch. you can feel the car "dragging" in snow mode, which means 1. you either slip the clutch more to start the vehicle or 2. you slip the clutch the normal amount and you get drive train shock. I am sure the 08 GSR guys know what i am talking about.

Haha, I LOLed. You have fun getting rocked by STis then... Do it on the track tho, street racing FTL... Try not to money shift it, this time... It's gonna suck real bad getting stuck in the middle of no where in the cold...

I donno what you're doing at the track, but i was at the track every other weekend the last two summers @ 400+ whp and my clutch is still going strong... maybe subbies = FTW? hahahaha.

There is no shortage of GSR guys having their clutch do funny things or get smoked. The first year the car was out the EVO X Transmission threads on here were outta control lol. As time has gone on, there have been a little less issues. I am sure Mitsubishi has fine tuned the GSR Tranny but not enough to make a note of it anywhere
