Sunroof leak???

Here's the deal I own a 09 lancer GT tat comes with a sunroof.... For the first time I took it to a car wash place and I noticed tat water leaks through the sunroof. Since I am going for my service on tuesday I called up markham Mitsubishi and told him the problem..... Over the phone he said that it is normal for water to leak through under high pressure wash and nutin could be done abt it.... I argued for a bit and he said he will take a look at the car when I go in for servicing. What should I say to them to get it fixed. Does any body else have this problem. Thanx in advance

Roof should never ever leak. pressure wash or no. leaking = interior damage, and mitsubishi would never let it leave the production line if i could not withstand a wash.

I had my sun roof replaced at Maple for other issues. (rubber was cracking)

Sometimes it seems like dealers will say anything is "normal" to avoid warranty work. lol I wash my car in a coin-op car wash with a pressue hose and don't notice any water in the interior.

Do you have large amounts of water coming in? Or does it come in just when then pressure hose is right at the seam between the sunroof and body of the car?

The rubber is there to prevent water leaks. It shouldnt be letting any water in at all. If it is it needs to be replaced.

I would try another dealership and just say water is coming in every time you drive it, then they cant say its caused by high water pressure.

water comes in only through high pressure......i think it might be the rubber seal...maybe change it for a larger rubber

Update..11 Jan 2011
so I went to da dealership today for oil change And talked to them abt da leak.... They did various testing and sprayed high pressure hoses on my sunroof and found no leak .... And said it is very common for sunroof to leak under high pressured water jet and did nutin to fix da problem... wat should be my next move .... I was thinking abt writing a letter to Mitsubishi Canada abt my problem since the dealership is unwilling to do any thing

Get your camera and do your own test. film it, if you prove it happens, at least its official documented

If you plan on writing a letter, please use something with spellcheck. Not trying to be an *** but the "ghetto" don't fly when filing a written complaint about poor service.

Also as Evo said try your own tests and film them, my sunroof leaked on my 03 VW but only for the fact that I closed it witht he car turned off, it somehow does not seat fully when doing that, is it the same for a Lancer ( have no used my sunroof ) on my 10.

i have a sunroof related question, i'm not sure if i've gone mad and only just noticing it after 3.5 years of owning my car or if there's something wrong with my sunroof. when you retract the sunroof, does it go all the way back or does it stop about an inch before the edge of the opening? cause mine does that and when i pull the button again it retracts the remainder of it.

is this normal??
