Blacking out your bumper.

Hey everyone,

I've seen a few lancers with the middle part of their bumper blacked out. I heard theres a way to do it without going to the shop, I just wanna know whats the best way to go about it without runing my lancer.

You can do a vinyl overlay which a lot of people do (it's strong, and looks great), or you can mask the section of your front bumper and paint it which is a lot of work and you have a higher possibility of screwing up. I would recommend an overlay.

I would suggest getting a vinyl overlay because its reversible and very reliable and durable, I know theres a few people on here that will do it for you for a price so just search the posts and you'll find a few people with pictures of there work who have done it for people.

plasti dip is super easy to get off, just peel it off and it comes right off, no damage to the paint or anything. Comes off similar to white glue on your fingers xD

So how did you do it?, just put painter's tape around the middle and spray away? How many coats did you put, and how long was the whole process?

I took out my grill first, then stuffed the holes, taped around it and just put on 3 coats. Took me a couple hours lol
