quick dealership question

r each mitsu dealerships independently owned by people? or does mitsu own all of them and they just have managers at each location?

basically would parts be cheaper at one location than the other or does mitsu set the prices and standards for each dealership?

hopefully that question makes sense..

don't quote me but I believe they're all independent...
I've asked different dealerships for parts and I got different prices
some dealerships will have specials from time to time so prices do not appear to be regulated across the board
i've found that ordering off mitsubishi.net gets best pricing

They're owned independently. And a person can own multiple dealerships.. The Subaru at Heartland Mississauga is owned by a guy who owns 12 dealers including Mitsu, BMW and such.

I know that MidToronto, Pickering and Scarborough share the same owner. On top of that he owns like couple dozens other dealerships of other brands...
I believe on Mitsu dealer websites they list their owner name.

Long story short. All dealerships are independant franchise locations. The history is a little strange.

Over a decade or so ago mitsubish was in Canada. Then when things went bad Mitsu pulled out and left the dealerships on their own. A few years later Mitsu came back, but the dealer network was livid. If I would describe the relationship today. Mitsubishi Canada operates with reduced authority over their dealer network. The dealership collective has some weight when they are united. Unfortunately you will never see a Mitsubishi Corporate location even though I think its something that will improve customer service.

Up until last year Canada did not have its own warehouse for parts.

^Explains why the dealers are full of crap here, and how they can get away with what they do to people.

They're independent. Most I've seen though are not connected to any other dealerships.

One thing that I will say is. Dealerships in Quebec are completely different than ones here in Ontario. Its a completely different world man. Service is great. Size of the dealerships are monster and they account for a large chunk of Mitsubishi Sales in Canada.

So what is it going to take to have a reliable Mitsubishi network here?

And I don't know about parts... but I've had prices for service being "all over there place" depending on who I call. I remember one service job there was a difference of a few hundred bucks for a major interval service!
