Need to buy coils!!!

Hey guys,

So i've been searching the forums regarding coils, and i have my mind set on HSD.

So, only thing left to do now, is to look for good pricing. I read the post evo_soul posted, and it had something to do with a group buy? Didn't get much details on that post, so i'm just wondering, if anyone here can tell me where i can pick up a set for the cheapest price.

I've been quoted for 1200, can anywhere else do better than that?

I drive a evo x btw. Thanks in advance!

lol why does everyone say that.

You cant go super slammed to the point where the wheels are minus 1 finger aka tucked over the wheel because its an inverted monotube. The dampening adjuster is located directly above the CV boot. If someone only cares about height control, look for a different kit.

That said, I personally think they are still the best kit for the money. But personal tastes very from person to person. Some guys/gals care about different things. Going below HSD's lowest level and watching a guy scrap his exhaust up and down the entrance of a shop is.... some what fun. Going lower... will lead to battle damage later on.

But its that danger factor that makes life interesting i guess.

I have HSD's on my Lancer and personally I love them. Sometimes wish I could slam the front a little lower but really it's kind of dumb haha. I already scrape and have to be careful. The rears I could do more but right now its level with front and fear it would look odd if I lower rear more than front. Performance and cost are great but slamming is fun too. Depends what you want but like evosoul said you will prob damage your car being lower lol.

I love watching super slammed cars go in to the Peak Performance / Friendly Auto shop. Its a tricky manoeuvre.

Can anyone confirm if HSD has different coilover models for the base Lancer and Ralliart?

Their website doesn't show separate models, which is not encouraging

HSD engineered the HSDMI07HR coilover to be compliant with the Ralliart.
HSDMI05HR part number was superseded for this main reason. They took the weight differences and made a slight variation to strike the perfect balance between the two car trims (weight differences). Optimal spring rates and valving for daily driving and autocross fun

Good stuff. Thanks for the confirmation.

I will be in the market for a set next season, after I thoroughly wear the crap out of the OEM suspension w/ Eibach springs

so I've been asking around for a quotes on HSD, seems like it's more expensive than BC's. and they're all quoting me in the mid 1200s range.

BTW got your PM evo soul, thanks for the info!

its just that parts guy is quoting around the same price for a brand new one, so i'm just gonna look into buying a new set.

unless anyone here has sources that can get me a set for under 1200..

anyone?

* dont want to sound cheap, just dont want to get ripped off lol
