I know Speedstar in Markham carries AMS. I doubt they'd have it in stock, but I'm sure they can order one for you.

I'd recommend ordering it online from a reputable vendor.

Speedstar is reputable vendor, time may be the only factor. They will likely not have stock. If your in a hurry order it online. But there is a chance you can get it a decent price from Speedstar.

Thx guys, I decided to order it online straight from AMS. First time I've had anyone charge me fees for paying through paypal. I hope this intake is worth the price. I've heard good reviews so we'll see.

I have another question and not sure if I should open up another thread. Just got my evo not too long ago and been reading online but I can't seem to understand this. I want to get a TBE and I'm getting the catback from Buschur but I don't seem to understand the downpipe and testpipe. Does the exhaust go from Turbo to Downpipe then to testpipe and then to catback? So if I just got a downpipe and catback would the test pipe section remain stock?
I don't understand how this works. I want the exhaust to stay a bit quieter so I wanted to keep the cats cause i wanna be able to pass emissions also. Just need to know are the Downpipe and Testpipe 2 different sections and what are my options here to get higher flow but keep some cats for sound depression and still be able to pass emissions!

Downpipe and test pipe are 2 different sections. Downpipe is the section immediately after the turbo. Then comes the Cat(or test pipe, if you choose to run without a cat), and then the "cat-back" exhaust which consists of the midpipe and mufflers(axle-back) portion.
If you're getting a catback from Buchur, that would be the catback section. And if you only got a downpipe, the stock cat will remain. (it wouln't be called a test pipe unless you're removing the cat entirely with just a straight pipe-hence test pipe)
I'd suggest going for a downpipe, high flow cat(if you want to pass emissions) and whatever catback you choose.
Just as a shameless plug, I have a Ultimate-racing downpipe and metal-substrate high flow cat for sale that would connect to your cat back exhaust. Let me know if you're interested.

All is right up here ^^

The Buchur cat-back is amazing loud. Flow in evo exhausts is also known as SOUND.

If you want quiet for idle and driving but loud at WOT, i'd go with a greddy SE cat-back, and put a test pipe in (remove the cat, replace with a pipe).

You can get a downpipe if you'd like, but there are very little gains involved with getting one unless you're planning on upping your turbo.

Replacement of Cat involves a mandatory tune (specially if you have an MR).

Replacement of cat can give you an intermittent or permanent CEL (Read check engine light), that is annoying. THis can be easily fixed by purchasing a Openport 2.0 tactrix cable.

Also, you can buy a testpipe+downpipe, but its really not a good idea for when you'll have to go for an inspection. Downpipe installs are very very difficult or pretty expensive.

Actually, I saw most of my gains after I installed the downpipe and high flow cat. No CEL either! If you're only going for sound, a catback will be more than enough. If you want performance to go along with the sound, I suggest a full turbo-back exhaust(downpipe, HFC, exhaust). And of course, a tune to make everything work together properly.

As for install, Akhon, I think you mean downpipe installs are very difficult and expensive. Installing a test pipe, is quite simple actually.

yes yes ! sorry a downpipe. edited.

HFC's are probably a better bet in the long run, have you run both a tp and hfc nex1?

I haven't run a testpipe because of emissions testing concerns. HFCs are definitely better in the long run to avoid any emissions testing hassles. And plus, test pipes just smell bad

Well I was planning on running the Buschur Racing Evo X S.S. Cross Flow Catback Exhaust because apparently its significantly quieter than the Bullet Muffler. I'm planning on an AMS Widemouth downpipe with an 02 Sensor spacer to avoid CEL. It also comes with a housing (bung) for wideband which is nice, but haven't decided on the High Flow Catted section yet. I was gonna go with the AMS catted pipe but its a straight pipe and doesn't have the factory bends which I've heard some people having issues with straight pipes rubbing on the driveshaft. I talked to AMS and they told me that they have not had any clearance issues so I'm not sure what to do with that. I do plan on upgrading my turbo so I figured I'd may as well do the full exhaust now instead of just getting the catback. I just pruchased the car a few weeks ago. Its a 2010 GSR got its almost new with just over 17k km on it. As of right now I'm currently waiting for my AMS intake to arrive in the mail and I've purchased a Cobb AccessPort and running the Stage 1 93 octane map. Would that be a decent setup? Can anyone suggest a good Catted pipe section from personal experience that has good fitment and no clearance issues?

Thanks for all the replies btw, its been very helpful.

Cobb is fine, but if you're going to upgrade your turbo just go opensource with tactrix... get it protuned or etuned from either clipse or bakaunchi

side note, i had cobb stage 1 tune and it felt ok... stage 2 felt alot better (without the downpipe even), I made 40whp more from the early stages of a etune (tactrix) via VD. This friday im going to the dyno to finish up with baka, hoping to even more gains there.

Can I get etunes with a Cobb Access Port or do I need a Tractrix?

some tuners do cobb tunes. baka used to, but logging is a little easier with tactrix (microSD).

saves a lot of money otherwise $500+ vs ~$120
