Plug Question for TT

When I had my car re-flashed at TT, Mark told me to run a colder plug when I head to the track (road course). At my request the tune was on the rich side and I do not understand why I should switch to a colder plug. It's not that I don't trust the advice, I just like to have a good understanding of the rationale before I make changes. Car runs like a raped ape Turbotrix Rules!

To track the car, it wouldnt be a bad idea to run a colder plug. Basically , you beat the hell our of your car for 20 min sessions , the hotter the plug is the better the chance of a pre-ignition condition. The plug becomes like a glow plug, when the gas enters the cylinder , the plug being so hot can ignite the fuel on the downstroke of the piston. Hence the pre-ignition condition. You would want to run a colder plug to avoid this condition. Im not saying it would happen but the racing your doing and how much abuse the car takes i would def recommend it. The colder the plug the easier it is to foul them out. Taking your car one step colder you wont notice a diff.

Mark street tuned my car in Pensacola. I don't autocross my car as the member in the first posts do, I do plan on taking it to the local 1/8th mile track once or twice a month. My mods are intake, turboback exhaust w/ cat delete, greddy type-s bov, hks 272/272 cams and ProfecB spec II ebc @22lbs. What plug would be best for me? Pls include PN. Thanks.
