Turbo Trix engine
A few months ago, Turbo Trix rebuilt the engine in my Evo. I was finally able to get to the track this past weekend for a 3-day event at Summit Point. I knew the car was fast, but had no idea how fast. I was able to pass everybody and lap many. On the front straight, everything in my mirror was shrinking. At one point, a fully track-prepped WS-6 was on my *** in the last turn coming onto the front straight. I gave him a point-by. When he did not pass me, I looked in my mirror and saw that he was so far behind that he could not catch me, let alone pass me. There really was no competition in my group for the entire weekend.
A buddy of mine drove is recently TT-tuned MR down from NJ. He was chatting with a 911 Turbo driver and the guy said, "Hey, ever seen one of these?". My friend replied, "Yeah, it's a 911 Turbo". The guy then said, "It's an X50". My friend politely smiled and talked about his car and his business, etc. During the first session, the 911 driver was shocked to see his precious X50 get walked down the front straight by an MR with cam gears, turbo-back exhaust and an Xede.
Our cars are phenomenal. Thank you Turbo Trix.

Also, when faced with the situation of a high HP car that won't let you by on the straight, usually the best thing to do is lift on the front straight, put some distance between you and the discourteous guy in the more powerful car and then reel him in through the corners leading up to the straight to show him that you are the better driver despite your less powerful car. So, the fact that the WS6 fell back doesn't necessarily mean that he was that much slower. My guess is that the WS6 might have been irritated that you didn't let him by and then decided to put some space between him and you to have more run room in Turns 1, 2, 3, etc.
I'm making a lot of assumptions about what happened, but the way you told the story brings back a lot of track event incidents when I've been extremely annoyed with the rich guy in the Viper, etc. that can't drive in the corner to save his life but pulls you on the straight and then brags in the pits afterward about how no one could pass him, he was the fastest car on the track, blah blah blah.
Anyhow, this post was probably too harsh, but I'm more or less venting at all of those guys who've incited the road rage side of me while on the track. Sorry if I've completely mischaracterized what happened.

The fact that he was right on you in the last turn but couldn't pull you on the straight (though he shouldn't have to) suggests that he was the better driver in a lower HP, worse handling car. He wouldn't have been right on you in that turn onto the front straight unless he did a better job exiting the carousel (I've done over a dozen events at Summit). It sounds like maybe you were slowing him down and in a race situation he would have been by you in that turn rather than slowing down for you in the turn, losing his momentum and waiting for the straight and the point-by.

I do understand your frustration with the high-HP cars and the douche bags who typically drive them. Fortunately, most of them don't like to come out in the cold.
I will be going to VIR with Car Guys later this summer:

If you would like to attend, shoot me a PM. We were able to get a group rate for $175 less than the listed price for the event.

"The 911 Turbo also offers an optional X50 engine enhancement performance package that increases horsepower to 444 (SAE) @ 5,700 rpm and sustains 457 lb.-ft of peak torque from 3,500 to 4,500 rpm. The new package includes modifications to the turbocharger, air intake cooler, electronic control unit, exhaust system, as well as a strengthened transmission. The X50 package is only available as an option from the Porsche factory."

What mods were done to your car giving you that kind of pulling power over the WS-6? I am also interested in the MR that was able to pull the X50 911 turbo (~450hp) in the straight? That is more than impressive (if not impossible) if it was only cam gears and an exhaust tuned with xede, Turbo Trix tunes Xede? Not trying to bust you, just seems very hard to believe when many others have experienced MUCH different outcomes trying to run those levels of cars on the straight at all levels of tune... Maybe I missed something.

I am unsure about what happened with the X50. He did not seem to be a great driver and his car is 200lbs heavier than the MR. Maybe he did not push his car too hard, considering it was more than $175,000. I do know that he showed no interest in talking to us after he was passed.
